Job PurposeA leadership role which is a key member of the Asia-Pacific regional executive team with dual responsibility for the Finance function in the Singapore and functional leadership of finance for the Asia-Pacific region.

Reporting directly to the RCEO Asia-Pacific with dotted line reporting to MD Singapore and VP dAO Finance.Singapore executive oversight for the end to end delivery of the finance function for the local business.

In addition to the control, statutory, regulatory and management reporting obligations of the Singapore business, the role is responsible for the providing best in class business partnering and decision support to the local management team to ensure delivery of its financial commitments.

Regional responsibility for driving Asia-Pacific performance targets, developing regional strategy with the executive team, delivering exceptional decision support and driving major projects, including business growth / M&A projects across the region.

As an active board member for operating companies and holding companies (where applicable) the role will implement a robust risk management framework ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory financial requirements as well as Emirates Group policies in all jurisdictions.

With a dotted line to the Vice President Business Finance for dnata Airport Operations, the role is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of core dnata Finance objectives in the region.

These include corporate governance improvements, systems and back office consolidation and talent mapping and performance management across the finance function.

Job AccountabilitiesSingapore : - Delivery of Singapore profit and cash to group targets.- Financial reporting accountability in the Singapore, including Group Submissions, Statutory and Tax- Local cash management to ensure liquidity, including financing through local banking partners.

  • Partner with the local business leadership, providing strategic recommendations on all aspects of the business including commercial, operations and support functions.
  • Implementation and maintenance of financial controls in line with the regional governance framework to protect shareholder value.
  • Leadership and development of Singapore finance team, including talent management and succession planning. Asia-Pacific Region : - Drive delivery of Asia-Pacific profit and cash to group targets with local management teams.
  • Liquidity and working capital management in the region, inclusive of cash flow forecasting plus coordinating funding requirements.
  • Partner with RCEO Asia-Pacific and business teams to develop and drive operational and commercial synergies.- Business partnering and decision support for all material investment proposals (including major capital expenditure projects, new contracts and greenfield start-ups).
  • Regional Finance lead on M&A including end to end transaction management, valuation and business case preparation, due diligence, contracting / completion and integration.
  • Drive delivery of one dnata Finance objectives through the region (including corporate governance, business partnering, many to few’ systems strategy, talent mapping and engagement etc.
  • Development and implementation of regional governance and control framework.- Identify and deliver opportunities for functional finance back office and procurement synergies across Asia-Pacific.

  • Leadership and development of Asia-Pacific finance team, including talent management and succession planning though dotted line functional reporting.
  • Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications : - Bachelor’s degree (finance / commerce discipline) plus a relevant post-graduate professional finance qualification Experience : - 12+ years’ experience in a large multi-national organisation and at least 5 years in senior finance management positions, including leading a large team of senior experienced finance professionals working across multiple geographies in a matrix organisation.

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the Finance discipline is essential including management accounting, financial and statutory accounting, taxation, working capital management and loan financing.
  • Some experience in leading M&A transactions including valuation modelling, business case preparation and contracting is required.
  • Aviation experience preferred but not a pre-requisite Knowledge / Skills : - Strong influencing skills and a proven ability to deal at all levels within a global business, combined with a sound knowledge of effective Finance best practice.
  • Language : - Spoken and written fluency in English is mandatory; spoken and written fluency in another Asian language (as a second language) would be an advantage.

    Due to current travel restriction, dnata Singapore will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require sponsorship of a work visa.
