Job Role : DIT Healthcare AdvisorC4(l)
Duties andresponsibilities : - Major projectwork
Lead onGovernment-to-Government activity such as Memorandums ofUnderstanding (MoUs) and policy development.
Lead on UK / UAE collaboration in healthcare and managingstrategic relationships. Lead on scoping opportunities in theHealthcare sector for major projects in which UK businesses andhealthcare providers might successfully bid, leading to export winsfor UK companies.
Obtain the latestinformation on commercial projects and promote UK strengths in thesectors.
Work with Healthcare UK (part of DIT)in the UK, act as the UAE lead on the regional High Value Campaign(HVC).
Country lead on DIT activities duringArab Health and other sectoral Trade Shows and TradeMissions.
Develop and maintain a StrategicRelationship Management (SRM) approach for key interlocutors in thesector, enabling other DIT staff and the wider Embassy access forextensive, up-to-date key documents, information for keyministries, companies in the UAE.
Work withDIT teams in the region as part of the Healthcare and Life ScienceCluster.
Maintain, build, andproactively develop strategic contacts with key stakeholders in themarket in order to identify new commercial opportunities as theyarise and promote UK strengths in Healthcare.
Foster relationships between UK businesses and localstakeholders.
Develop partnerships and supportthe UAE British Business Group and the Business Council workinggroup, including attending networking events in and out ofhours.
Working individually, withInternational Trade Advisors based in UK, or through use of DITservices, mentor new and experienced high potential UK exportersthrough the implementation of new strategies and plans to increasetheir trade activity in the market and connect them with keystakeholders.
Provide market access and, whererequired, work with Prosperity team colleagues towards eliminationof barriers to trade for UK plc in the market, logging new barrierson the DIT portal.
Undertake occasional visitsto the UK for promotion of market opportunities in the HealthcareSector.
Prepare annual business plans andstrategies for the sector and regularly update sectorreports.
Present at seminars and other DITevents in the UAE and UK and contribute to in-market briefings topromote UK expertise in the sector.
Developpartnerships with DIT regional offices, DIT Sectors Group, Chambersof Commerce, and Trade Associations.
Providewritten and oral briefing for high level visits and meetingsquickly whilst under pressure.
Devise and runwith VIP programmes for Ministers and senior DIT staffvisits.
Work closely withHealthcare UAE market specialist based in Dubai, UKEF Counsellor,and the Healthcare UK team based in the UK to keep pipelineopportunities information and progress updated, agree action andshare key insights with regional colleagues.
Work closely with the UAE Life Science Lead on crosscutting projects and opportunities.
Generateand record export wins, export opportunities, and other metrics forUK companies to contribute towards DIT targets.
Provide senior level support, advice, and insightregarding the commercial environment in the UAE in the Healthcaresector.
Represent the commercial viewpoint ofthe British Embassy beyond the DIT team, across the Embassy, andexternally.
Refer appropriate potentialcustomers to our partners, the British Centre for Business (BCB)and Pro Partners for support in commercialopportunities.
Management of DIT events in theUAE including exhibitions, seminars, market visits, and supervisionof programmes for UK delegates visiting the market.
Work closely with the Infrastructure DIT UAE team andExpo 2020 Lead on projects of mutual interest.
Work closely with the Expo 2020 Lead on designopportunities in the run up to, during, and legacy after theevent.
Occasionally support events in thesector and the wider DIT team.
Wider Embassy activities
Contributetowards wider Embassy activities-at least one corporateobjective.
Assist the Embassy team in makingarrangements for VVIP visits in your area of expertise, asrequired.

Essentialqualifications, skills and experience
Trade background in a similar or business developmentrole.
Evidence of advisory and negotiationskills. Able to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely,both orally and in written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to influence andnetwork confidently with industry leaders, government officials,and senior business people.
Strong customerfocus and ability to deliver quality service.
Team player who is capable of working on their owninitiative and managing others.
Ability tomulti-task and have excellent organisational skills.
Ability to problem solve and work under pressure to meetmultiple and changing priorities.
Excellentcommunication skills in English, both written andspoken.
Good working knowledge of MicrosoftOffice programmes.
Desirablequalifications, skills and experience
Current understanding of the Healthcare sector in theMiddle East and / or UK, and with a strong network of stakeholdersand contacts in the sector.
Previousexperience of working in the Middle East, and awareness of theregion's culture, traditions, and protocol.
Experience in event management.
Arabic language skills.
