A Front Office Manager supervises the FrontOffice Team to ensure that Team Members are prepared andwell-informed to deliver our Guests an exceptional experience fromcheck-in through check-out.

What will I be doing?

As Front OfficeManager, you will oversee the Front Office Team which is the mainconnection between the Guest, the hotel, and the various hoteldepartments.

A Front Office Manager is responsible for managing thefirst impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform thefollowing tasks to the highest standards :

  • Oversee the entire Front Office operation to maintainhigh standards
  • Evaluate levels of Guestsatisfaction and monitor trends, with a focus on continuousimprovement
  • Ensure regular and VIP Guests arerecognised and that the Front Office department operates with asales attitude and promotes the hotel brand's loyaltyscheme
  • Maximise room occupancy at best ratesand use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services andfacilities
  • Set departmental objectives, workschedules, budgets, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor the appearance, standards, andperformance of the Front Office Team Members with an emphasis ontraining and teamwork
  • Ensure Team Members havecurrent knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing andpolicies, as well as knowledge of the local area, and arecontinuously trained to learn and understand policies andpractices
  • Maintain good communication andworking relationships with all hotel departments
  • Monitor staffing levels to meet cover businessdemands
  • Conduct monthly communication meetingsand produce minutes
  • Manage staff performanceissues in compliance with company policies andprocedures
  • Recruit, manage, train and developthe Front Office team
  • Comply with hotelsecurity, fire regulations and all health and safetylegislation
  • Act in accordance with policiesand procedures when working with front of house equipment andproperty management systems
  • Assist with otherdepartments, as necessary

    To successfully fill this role, you should maintain theattitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow :

  • A degree or diploma in Hotel Management orequivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years of FrontOffice supervisory experience in the hotel, leisure, and / or retailsector
  • High level of IT proficiency
  • High level of commercial awareness and salescapabilities
  • Experience of managing people anddeveloping people
  • Previous experience ofmanaging a department and Profit and Loss account
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communicationskills
  • Accountable and resilient
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of customerservice
  • Ability to work underpressure
  • Excellent groomingstandards
  • Flexibility to respond to a varietyof work situations
  • Ability to work on your ownand as part of a team
  • It would beadvantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the followingcapabilities and distinctions :

  • Familiar with Property Management Systems
  • A degree or diploma in Hotel Management orequivalent
