IKEA Supply (Middle East) is a member of the Inter IKEA Group within the core business Range & Supply. ISME’s main task is to supply IKEA Home Furnishing products to specific IKEA franchisees in the Middle East. Additionally, ISME is responsible to operate the IKEA Distribution Center in Dubai South, UAE.


Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Business Navigator to join our Category Logistics Services team at IKEA Supply Middle East. 

About the assignment

You are responsible to support the steering of the Category Logistics Services Team in order to secure availability at the lowest possible cost by challenging, providing analysis and giving directions for improvement. You will have the possibility to work in different processes on a regional level – with always having a global perspective in mind.

Your assignment among others is to:

  • Utilize relevant analytical tools to follow up the goal achievement and steer the development of the business.
  • Identify business improvement potentials as well as detect business risks and propose needed actions to the Category Logistics Services Team’s Management.
  • Contribute to the goal-setting process by providing analysis to Category Logistics Services Team Management.
  • Provide Category Logistics Services with key figures, performance indicators, and analysis
  • Initiate and participate in the development of performance and follow up tools.
  • Challenge existing ways of working to find better working methods for the business
  • Working on budgeting and forecasting
  • Understanding flow capacity and having the ability to produce operational reports

  • Qualifications

    As a person, you are highly motivated, action-oriented a team player; a self-starter and confident in making independent decisions. You have a sense for detecting and highlighting issues as well as a passion to steer the business towards efficiency. You are willing to challenge performance deviations and you are able to work well with people across all levels of the organization. We also expect that you have high communication skills.

    To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • University degree within logistics, business administration, economics or relevant work experience
  • Proven business navigation skills from either supply chain, finance, accountancy or corresponding, ideally from IKEA.
  • Good knowledge of IKEA Transport and Logistics
  • Capability to see the total picture and drill down to every single detail at the same time. Consistent follow-up skills.
  • Very high level of analytical skills
  • Report development skills
  • Ability to understand standards, share and live IKEA values
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Access, Cognos, QlikView 
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
