    About the Job :

    An opportunity has arisen for a Demi Chef de Partie to joinCulinary team in Burj Al Arab Kitchen.

    Your mainduties will include the following :

  • Control the section for which responsible on behalf of the Chef de Partie.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the section and see that all areas of section are maintained following Burj al Arab standards.
  • Organize together with the Chef de Partie shifting in the section with regard to mise-en-place production and its service.
  • Take orders from Chef de Partie and carry them out in the correct manner.
  • Maintain good colleague’s relations and motivate colleagues.
  • Ensure that training on a one to one basis has been carried out and comprehended.
  • Work to the specifications received by the Chef de Partie regarding portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
  • Check the main information board regarding changes in any Banquets or other information regarding the organization.
  • Pass all information to the next shift about functions.
  • Gives food preparation tasks to Commis chefs and monitor that they are carried out in the correct manner, on time and to precise Recipes.·
  • To train and monitor junior staff to maintain standards and consistency
  • To fully understand HACCP and COSHH and take appropriate action to maintain a safe and equitable working environment whilst being sensitive to, and aware of, business levels in order to maintain a disciplined but harmonious department
  • Using information available, plan preparation, production and cooking of food appropriate to the section, to the required standard, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Check Commis Chefs section : personal hygiene, Jumeirah standards are in place
  • About You :

    The ideal candidate for this position will have the followingexperience and qualifications :

  • Kitchen Diploma or an apprenticeship or have attended chef’s training courses for at least one year
  • At least two years’ experience in a five star hotel
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
