Role Summary :
Provide full construction supervision service to major mixed class development, acting as Engineer’s representative and principle client side interface with construction contractors.
Responsible for safety and quality oversight, technical compliance, schedule and cost management and all contract administration activity on site.
Role Responsibilities :
Provide leadership to the Construction Supervision team(s) on defined projects
Develop and maintain a proactive safety culture across defined projects
Ensure robust safety management arrangements are developed and implemented by construction contractors
Represent the Engineer in all technical matters relating to the delivery of works and make decisions that will influence the output of the project within constraints of delegated authority (decisions with no direct cost / schedule impact and within agreed design / specification)
Ensure construction proceeds in line with approved design and applicable standards and that the resulting asset is acceptable to the Client’s Operations and Maintenance department
Maintain robust contract administration arrangements that support efficient delivery of works, with a focus on evaluation of payment applications and processing of contract change / claims (time and cost)
Monitor project(s) delivery against agreed baseline schedules, forecast future productivity and key completion dates and provide clear reports to the Engineer in support of managing construction contractor performance
Maintain awareness of project progress and support the Construction Director in planning staff mobilization / demobilisation accordingly to ensure resource levels remain optimum
Liaise with PMC / PWA and contractors on a regular basis and build relationships in parallel with maintaining compliance with formal communication routes adopted by the Supervision Consultant
Liaise with members of the Public impacted by construction works and develop mutually acceptable solutions, which resolve concerns and address complaints received.
Represent the Company in a professional manner
Role Requirements :
Degree Qualified in Civil or Structural engineering
15 years post graduate experience
Knowledge and experience across contract administration, specifically use of FIDIC red book.
Abu Dhabi experience is essential.
Experience preparing reports on variations and claims
Strong Client relationship interpersonal skills.
