Job Role : Learning Specialist (Cognitive orEducational Psychology)
My client, a prominent Universitybased in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is establishing agraduate level, allopathic, four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD),program, and is looking to appoint a qualified Learning Specialistto join the team.
You must hold a Master’s degree inCognitive or Educational Psychology, Counseling, Education orrelated field.
You will report to theProgram Director Student Academic Support Services
Thenewly established College of Medicine is committed to providing aninnovative and progressive medical education curriculum, alignedwith Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) standards,taught by globally diverse, highly qualified and experiencedfaculty.
The Learning Specialist assistswith the College of Medicine and Health Sciences learningenhancement program, serves as liaison and / or advisor forCollege’s students and faculty, and helps ensureeffective delivery of student services.
The Learning Specialistwill engage students, individually and with group learningactivities. The position will work collaboratively under thedirection of the Program Director Student Academic Support Servicesand to ensure access to academic support is integrated andequitably available to all College of Medicine and Health Sciencesstudents.
Assist with theUniversity's learning enhancement program by providingacademic support and direction to students, sharing pertinentinformation with faculty and administration, mentoring students inpreparation for exams, and providing support for specialprograms.
Maintain student records incompliance with University policies and keep accurate documentationof sessions, meetings, and other communications asappropriate.
Serve as liaison and / or advisorfor and between students and faculty, facilitating enhancedlearning, ensuring effective transition to medical / graduate school,providing workshops and sessions enhancing the learning experiencefor students, helping ensure effective delivery of studentservices, assisting with student orientation, and contributing toteam effort by performing other duties as assigned.
Contribute as an active member of / and collaborator forthe Learning Enhancement team.
Teachseminars and provide individual counselling to students preparingfor standardized exams; Plans and directs remedial programs.
Maintain reports and completes forms regardingstudent academic support.
Monitor studentprogress; prepares communications as needed.
Organize and input pertinent information into student informationmanagement software.
Represent theUniversity favorably and in accordance with established Core Valuesand expectations.
Perform other duties asassigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of theorganization
Attend relevant committeemeetings (e.g. curriculum, orientation)
Adhere to the University's information security andconfidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches orother security risks accordingly
Coordinatewith other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasksand responsibilities, as and when needed
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager&Experience
Master’s degree in Cognitive or Educational Psychology,Counseling, Education or related field.
A minimum 7years of relevant experience.
A minimum of 4 years of relevantexperience
