MorganStanley's Internal Audit Department reports to the Firm's Board Audit Committeeand comprises business, technology and risk auditors.

Our mission is to berecognized as a strong and high performing audit function that is viewed as atrusted authority and advisor to the Board, Firm management and industryregulators in assessing and strengthening the Firm's control environment.

Internal Audit provides independent assurance on the quality and effectivenessof Morgan Stanley’s internal control, risk management and governance systemsand processes.

Businessand Risk auditors focus on understanding the risks that the businesses face andthe controls to mitigate those risks.

Technology auditors focus on theapplication controls supporting business processes. Both groups are responsiblefor understanding, analysing and testing the controls to protect the franchise.

Team Profile

MorganStanley EMEA Investment Management Audit team is part of the Morgan StanleyInternal Audit Department and provides internal audit coverage of EMEAInvestment Management activities as well as supporting global activities andservices.

The Investment Management Audit team is responsible for assessing theadequacy of the control environment across the various financial products andservices.

Qualifications

PrimaryResponsibilities

MorganStanley is seeking an auditor for its Investment Management (IM) audit team inLondon covering Global Investment Management audits.

You will be part of adiverse and global team and will be key in contributing to the timelycompletion of the Global IM audit plan.

Youwill mainly cover front to back public and private side audits, which mayinclude equities, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives.

In addition, youwill also cover Finance, Legal and Compliance, as well as other aspects of theInvestment Management business.

  • Reportingto the EMEA Audit Coverage Manager (ACM), key responsibilities include but isnot limited to;
  • Performing risk assessments at anentity and process level for key Investment Management entities;
  • Conduct audits projects in line withmethodology, including the preparation of key audit artefacts including theAudit Scoping Memorandum, Risk Control Matrix and Audit Report;
  • Execute audit activities to agreedbudgets and timelines as outlined by the Audit Coverage Director (ACD);
  • Co-ordinate and work with auditorswithin the team and around the globe on multi-region audits to ensure timelyand effective completion;
  • Appropriately assessing potentialfindings for significance;
  • Communicating audit findings to the ACM,ACD and client management and assisting with negotiating finalization of issueswith senior client management;
  • Perform issue validation of the issuesraised as part of audits or Continuous Monitoring.
  • Develop solid working relationship withclients through Continuous Monitoring and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Qualifications

    Essential skills and experience

  • Experience in auditing operational controls within a wide range ofbusiness processes preferably in Investment Management;
  • Understanding of key financial industry regulations;
  • Good understanding of investment management principles and products;
  • Good knowledge of financial instruments and derivative products;
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to process information quicklyand assess risks and controls.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense ofownership and accountability;
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve results, whilst maintaininga professional, friendly and client focused approach;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability topresent complex and sensitive issues to senior management;
  • English language skills (speaking, reading and writing at advancedlevel.
  • Desirable skills and experience

  • Preferred comprehensive knowledge ofthe general risks and controls in a trade life-cycle (i.e. trade execution,capture, confirmation settlement, etc.
  • and of how business transactions areaccounted for

  • University degree or equivalent
  • The ability to contribute and create new initiatives and be responsiveto change;
  • Relevant professional qualifications;
  • Other European language skills.
