Job Description

Focus:

The Communications Director operates assigned accounts effectively and meets group’s profit objectives. He/she sells agency’s entire array of services to existing and new clients. He/she has final quality and budgetary responsibility for the assigned accounts. The Communication Director is responsible for coaching and developing his/her team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop results-oriented strategic plans; develops ideas to expand programs, resulting in superior client product and increases agency revenues
  • Deliver forecasted revenue and profit margins
  • Guide media relations strategies
  • Build client receptivity to our programs
  • Translate creativity into actionable plans
  • Establish and build both the professional and personal acceptance of each client contact
  • Recognize and analyze client behavior that reflects concern about the quality of MS&L’s service or product and taking appropriate corrective action
  • Analyze client budgets to verify that costs are being kept within client’s budget and are in line with revenues, ensuring that unbillable expenses are kept minimal
  • Review programs to ensure efficient use of agency and outside resources and minimize cost without jeopardizing quality
  • Keep senior management informed of progress and potential problems, and of anticipated changes in client goals, plans, organizational structure, etc
  • Assist senior agency management in developing prospective clients
  • Develop plans and techniques for generating and pursuing new business prospects, including additional business from existing clients
  • Ensure billable hours goal is met by all direct reports
  • Maintain profitability of accounts by minimizing write-offs/held amounts
  • Recruit and select high potential personnel whose talents are well suited for meeting both client and agency needs
  • Create an environment in which the group is motivated to deliver innovative concepts and executions
  • Ensure that account team personnel set priorities and organize their work flow effectively
  • Ensure that the work of the group is in accordance with the strategy and will be effective in meeting client needs
  • Monitor projects to ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Supports company systems and works cooperatively with partners, management, account support staff and administrative personnel
  • Maintain high level of professional and community involvement to keep agency name visible and develop key contacts
  • Actively participates in identifying and generating new business
  • Instrumental in driving the review process of group members on an annual basis
  • Maintain high level of professional external business associations and community involvement to keep agency name visible and develop key contacts.

    · Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications or a related discipline

    · Experience: 6+ Years in Public Relations or related field in Communications
