About the Job :
An opportunity has arisen for a Sommelier to join Al Mahara Service in Burj Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role :
Drive beverage revenue in the outlets and maintain beverage cost within budget by effective up selling.
Control and monitor wine orders, stock and par level in his outlet
Maintain wine chillier at correct temperature.
Maintain temperature records.
Create and maintain up to date wine list as per Burj Al Arab standards after coordination with outlet managers, head sommelier and assistant head sommelier
Stock rotation update.
Minimize wastage by avoiding too many opened bottles.
Ensure all tables are attended during the service; refilling and fresh orders are taken throughout.
Train all F&B team members on existing and new products, as well as selling techniques and any other necessary beverage trainings.
Build rapport with teams to enhance team work and smooth operation.
About you :
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications :
College or university degree.
Certified task and group trainer.
WSET level 3 or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar luxury, high end work environment as Sommelier.
Worked in cultural diverse workforce
Intermediate level - Microsoft Office applications- particularly Excel and power point.
