The purpose of the Lead Manager Logistics Operations is to provide operational management and experience in the LCC during Expo 2020.
The Lead Manager will provide leadership and support to the Site Logistics Operations work stream, whilst on a day to day basis lead on the core management of all logistics operations.
The Lead Manager will be accountable for all Expo 2020 Logistics activities across the site, ensuring a coordination between work streams to deliver a seamless end to end logistics service for Functional Areas, Departments, Participants, Internal and External Stakeholders.
The main responsibilities of this role include : - Along with the Site Logistics Lead Manager and the other LCC Lead Managers, to lead the site logistics operations within the Event Operations Logistics Function, and to ensure that material and equipment for Expo 2020 and all key stakeholders are stored at on-site and off-site locations according to relevant standards and procedures necessary for event operation;
Assist and liaise with the Logistics work stream Senior Managers (i.e. Customs & Freight Forwarding, Material Management, Warehousing, Distribution, Programme Management) with their requirements to support an efficient and economical end-to-end Logistics operation;
Assist, liaise, support and work collaboratively with the Expo 2020 Official Logistics Partner in relation to the site logistics elements of the Logistics Services Agreement;
Working in collaboration with the Site Logistics Lead Manager and the other LCC Lead Managers to define the short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the Venue Logistics work stream and agree this with the Head of Logistics;
Continually improve Expo 2020 Venue Logistics Processes, Policies and Procedures; - Agree with Site Logistics Lead Manager deliverables for the Venue Logistics work stream on a 3 month rolling basis;
Prior to Expo 2020 engage with assigned functional areas (FA) and departments and represent all work streams via the Logistics FA Buddy system to identify their scope for Logistics services and maintain the relationship during the event to support planning and load out operations;
Via training and communication, develop tools, briefings training and engagement opportunities and material to communicate the Logistics Operations Plan to internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, advisors and participants;
Provide advice, consultation and updates to those FAs, departments, participants as well as suppliers and other external stakeholders in their efforts to integrate the Expo 2020 Logistics policies and procedures;
Support the Logistics work streams in developing operational plans and provide advice and updates on site activities.
