Job Role : Head of Finance
A very large reputable sporting organisation headquarteredin the United Arab Emirates is looking for an experienced Head ofFinance to join their strong, longstanding senior leadershipteam.
The Head ofFinance will be responsible for financial management, financialreporting and the tight fiscal control and delivery of significantcapital projects.
They must also be able to capture, process,report and explain the impact of key transactions promptly andaccurately.
The role will require strongtechnical skills and experience of operating in an ever evolving,regulated industry. It will also require excellent interpersonalskills and an ability to build strong working relationships withkey stakeholders.
Outside of specificresponsibilities, the role will be focused across anorganisation-wide initiative to drive corporate governance, revenuegeneration and cost management.
Manage, supervise and develop the financeteam, including completion of PDRs, and provide strong leadershipand guidance to the finance team and payroll department ingeneral.
Responsible for the development andmanagement of the Key Performance Indicators for the business,ensuring accurate reporting and working closely with heads ofdepartment and project leaders to develop these.
Total responsibility for the accurate production ofmonthly Management Accounts and accurate annual statutory financialstatements at Group consolidation and Company level.
The ManagementAccounts are to be produced to a standard appropriate for deliveryto the Executive Management team, Board of Directors.
Production of Annual Departmental Budgets by working witheach Department Head, and subsequent production of the AnnualBudget Model and Cash Flow Forecast for presentation to theExecutive Management team and Board of Directors.
Drivingimprovements in budgeting and developing granular budgetingmodels.
Investigating, researching andmanaging new investment opportunities with the GroupCFO.
To have overall responsibility for thevarious company payroll records, to ensure accurate payrollinformation is submitted to the bank within the payment deadlinesrequired.
Ensure accurate Cash FlowForecasting with monthly updates to the rolling Annual Cash FlowForecast, as well as maintaining the short-term day to day CashFlow Forecast.
Presentation of financialresults to the Executive Management team on a timelybasis.
Advising the Board on the availabilityof cash.
Full year and half yearaudits.
Review and approval of quarterly VATsubmissions.
Lead the annual business plandevelopment and budgeting process.
Lead thefinancial modelling and analysis to support the development oflong-term strategic initiatives and business plans.
Developing, implementing and maintaining rigorouscorporate governance.
Define the role andresponsibilities, recruit, manage, and measure KPIs of the teammembers to deliver the key objectives.
Establish and maintain good working relationships withrelevant external banks and institutions.
Working closely with the Commercial Director to developoperational delivery and support requirements and deliverssame.
Ensure optimal deployment of resourcesto achieve business goals.
Develop finance andaccounting team goals that are fully aligned with the company goalsand objectives.
Maintain strong workingrelationships with key accountants and tax specialists, lawyers,property relationships, and other finance relatedadvisors
Maintain product knowledge on thefull range of goods and services provided by the company to providebest possible financial service.
Dealing withinsurance matters, and to oversee the annual insurance renewalprocess and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained at alltimes.
Ensure appropriate legal review ofcontracts and solicit external legal advice as required.
Review finance of preferred vendors.
Monthly review and approval of all payrolls.
Overview any Company Pension Schemes
Take on and manage ad hoc projects within the FinanceDepartment and in the wider business as required.
Develop, implement and maintain knowledge of companypolicies, procedures and processes.
Leadweekly departmental meetings and actively participate in othermeetings (internal & external) as and when required.
Experience in the UAE / Region is stronglydesired.
Track record of successfully leadingan effective team, enabling the team to perform well on anindividual and collective basis.
Experience ofmeeting and exceeding challenging objectives and targets thatcontribute significantly to organisational performance.
An understanding of the financial environment relating tothe operation of a sporting environment.
Knowledge & experience of leading the budgetdevelopment process in a complex organisation.
Experience within a sporting organisation isdesired.
Proven experience of an effectiveapproach to problem solving that contributes to the overallperformance of the organisation.

Qualified Chartered Accountant
10+ years post-qualification desirable.
MBA qualification advantageous.
