Main duties &responsibilities
Develop work schedules for all staff technicians andadjust as needed to accommodate changing workloads.
Evaluate staff productivity, efficiency, and otherspecific work quality performance indices.
Provide training to biomedical technicians asappropriate.
Supervise employees throughperformance evaluation counselling and training on newprocedures’ and equipment usage.
Determine service priorities and allocation ofdepartmental staff to repair or replace equipment to ensure it isoperational at all times.
Elicits feedback from the served team toensure satisfaction with work completed and provide strategicplanning to continually improve biomedical engineering programs andoperations
Oversee the investigation of allequipment failures and incidents involving patient-care equipmentto ensure the maintenance of a safe patient care and workenvironment.
Evaluate, determine, and monitor action taken whenrecall or equipment modification notices are received fromregularity agencies or manufacturers.
Managehospital owned equipment in accordance with the policy andregulatory requirements. Coordinate maintenance, repair, equipmentevaluation and purchasing functions, special design andconstruction of equipment and provides technical assistance tocustomer departments to ensure the proper functioning of equipmentand meet operational requirements.
Recommend equipment renovation, refurbishment,replacement, or re-deployment based on equipment age, failure rate,cost of service, and overall ability to support the clinical usefor which it is intended.
Lead and / orparticipate in CE system projects, including deciding on solesource service vendors, system service contracts, best practices,and policy and procedure development.
Monitorthe computerized record keeping system to track repairs,maintenance and notifications to buildings and equipment and reviewtechnical requirements of regulatory agencies to comply withrequirements of regularity agencies to comply with requirementsaccreditation and inspection agencies.
Participates in personnel and subordinatestaff’s continuing education and training. Remainscurrent on rules and regulations effecting biomedical engineeringactivities.
Assist service department in meeting regularityrequirements safe and effective workplace
Coordinate with hospital support services on workfunctions , review problem areas , review progress of programs andactivities etc.
Serve as a member of thesafety committee and maintain safe and effectiveworkplace
Required to perform safety testingand preventive maintenance on clinical equipment.
Required to perform complex repairs involving extensivetroubleshooting to the component level.
Understand and comply with joint Commission and otherapplicable standards and regulations.

Supportall corporate HSE and ensure HSE compliance for whole company andall sites to include waste management support andcontrol
To comply with any instruction ormeasure on occupational safety and health instituted byARH.
Desired Skills :
Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complexproblems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluateoptions and implement solutions.
Years ofexperience :
10years’ overall experience in large acute care hospitalsof which of which 05 years’ experience managing amultidiscipline biomedical maintenance service
University Graduate in Master or Bachelor ofBiomedical Engineering from recognized universities and approved byMinistry of Education in U.A.E.
