Department : Maintenance (Plant)
Job Function :
Carries out preventive and breakdown maintenance and calibration of all electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic instruments in the field, panel and workshop, such as transmitters, control valves, shutdown switches, vibration probes, belt-
weighers, speed monitors, tension drives.
Also carries out routine / preventive maintenance of analyzers and fire and safety equipment, as assigned by Instrument Engineer.
Job Responsibilities :
Carries out routine / preventive maintenance and calibration of field instruments on a regular basis per the approved schedule such as transmitters, control valves, shutdown switches and a variety of other instruments in the Ammonia, Urea, Utility and Product Handling areas.
Completes work reports after each job giving full details of work carried out.
Carries out breakdown maintenance or adhoc checks as required by Operations or from Engineer, and disassemble instruments, cleans / repairs / replaces parts or components, reassembles, calibrates and tests the serviced instruments to ensure proper operation.
Carries out repairs on control valves and other instruments in the workshop for those instruments that cannot be conveniently repaired in the field.
Also ensures the proper calibration of test equipment used in the workshop or for fire and safety equipment and checks equipment against master standards, such as mercury manometer for such comparisons.
Attends various maintenance duties during shifts, such as repairing various instruments in the Product Handling area when products are being loader on ships and repairs / calibrates bag counters, stoppers, bag tilting devises, misalignment switches and weight adjustments for belt weights or for a wide variety of other instrument repairs in the ongoing Ammonia, Urea and Utility Plants.
Logs all activities carried out in field or workshop on daily basis.
Coordinates with Mechanical Craftsmen for maintenance of heavy equipment (compressors, turbines, pumps etc ) by dismantling associated control instruments and cabling.
Reinstalls instrumentation when overhauls, maintenance have been completed.
Assists in carrying out calibration and maintenance of analyzer instruments as assigned by Engineer.
Follows all safety rules and regulations when carrying out work activities, including the wearing of all necessary safety clothing and obtaining necessary work permits before commencing work.
Carries out housekeeping work in field and workshop after repair and maintenance work.
Works in upgradation Projects with supervision.
Preparing user - friendly technical manuals for U.A.E. National employees.
Training U.A.E. National Developees during on and off jobs,
Preparing revising technical documents / drawings for Plant modification Projects.
Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Plant modification / revamping jobs.
Assists in supervision of Shutdown / Turnaround works.
Minimum Requirements :
Completion of Secondary (12 years) education and two years relevant technical training in Electronics or Control Systems.
Eight (08) years electronic instrumentation maintenance experience in a Fertilizer or Petrochemical Plant.
