Department Profile

The ISG Cross-Divisional Governance group within ISG Management is responsible for governing the Global Model Management, Data Governance, Trader Mandate, Booking Model, and Trading Risk Limit Governance functions within Morgan Stanley.

These in-business risk management teams partner with internal and external control groups to understand business needs and their associated risks, execute on practical solutions, and maintain a global governance, communication, and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

This specific role is part of the Algo Model Control Office focused on governing model control requirements for ISG’s electronic trading algorithms.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Serving as the local Model Control Office representative for ISG’s electronic trading algorithms for the EMEA region.
  • Collaboration internally within the Sales & Trading business and independent control functions to establish and govern model control requirements of the Firm’s electronic trading algorithms.
  • Development of a strong working relationship with counterparts across regions to understand their functions and requirements associated with electronic trading and ensure consistent communication and execution globally.
  • Leading local algo model governance forums / meetings to facilitate implementation of model control standards and manage Business As Usual (BAU) processes.
  • Regular maintenance of detailed project plans including measuring progress against deliverables and escalating or resolving issues.
  • Creation of metrics, materials, and reporting to various senior committees, both globally and regionally.
  • Preparation of meeting materials and recording minutes for meetings.
  • Central tracking of audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting management with ad hoc requests / projects.
  • Management of algo-specific access and / or enhancement requests for the Model Control System (MCS).
  • Contribution to the development of Firm policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Skills required (essential)

  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written, and ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Analytical thinker with aptitude to creatively solve problems
  • Proactive worker with the ability to work as part of a close-knit team as well as independently
  • Experience in developing concise and effective management reports and regular updates with keen attention to detail and high personal standards for quality of work
  • Familiar, or some experience, with project management including complex initiatives across several departments and groups
  • Some experience in model risk management and / or electronic trading is ideal but not essential
  • Excellent desktop application skills : Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Minimum education qualification is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
