Each skill should be supported by a recognised apprenticeship, certification or industry accreditation, along with documented work experienceAbility to contract, programme and oversee maintenance and construction work performed by external contractorsExcel / Word / Email skills and experience of writing documentation for compilation of manuals and management systemsProficiency in spoken and written English is essentialROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESPrincipal duties are to support the Chief Technical Officer in the management of the Technical Department personnel on duty, prioritise jobs and program daily work for the Senior Technicians, Safety Supervisor and their teamsThe 2IC will monitor the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment essential to the day-to-day operation of a private estate and oversee the repairs and maintenance conducted by contractorsExperience with electrical and mechanical installations and their operational management is essential to this role and a proven history of working on private estates, private yachts, exclusive hotels or cruise ships will provide the 2IC with the required experience to excel in this roleThe 2IC will observe and report on the state of repair of buildings, plant and machinery and assign tasks to be conducted by the Technical Department staff or outside contractors, through coordination with the Helpdesk Operator and the duty Senior Technician.

Report on repairs and maintenance requirements, by utilising experience and understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as carpentry, paintwork, general building and landscaping.
Manage a team of up to 30 engineers and technicians for the efficient completion of day-to-day departmental tasks. Understand the areas of expertise of each team member and assign duties according to their capabilitiesOffer advice and training to less experienced members of the team and organise staff to work together where there is an opportunity for experience to be passed onCoordinate with the Safety Supervisor on the Technical Department’s role in response to alarms and breakdowns and coordinate required remedial action with the Senior Technician.
Consult with relevant personnel on specific tasks. Organise, oversee and assist with coordination of contractors and Hill Robinson Estates personnel for routine repairs and maintenance and minor construction workWork closely with the Senior Technician to programme repairs and maintenance, and prioritise resources to ensure all buildings, services, machinery, vehicles and associated equipment are in optimum operational conditionSupport the Chief Technical Officer and the Technical Department with the production of operational documents and manuals, including standard operating procedures, checklists and formsMonitor the Technical Department’s inventory in coordination with the Storekeeper / Handyman and assign tasks as appropriateCompile information from the Safety Supervisor, Senior Technician, Helpdesk Operators, MEP Technicians, AVIT Technicians and Storekeeper and write weekly progress updates for incorporation by the Chief Technical Officer into the Technical Department weekly report to the client*Non Smoker and no visible Tattoos We thank you in advance for your interest in this position.
