Supportsthe development and implementation of ongoing media and community relations.Provides crisis communication assistance to properties.

Verifies information tothe public and community is displayed correctly and effectively. Develops andmaintains an ongoing, focused media and community relations program.

Education and Experience

  • 2-yeardegree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, orrelated major; 2 years experience in public relations, communications, orrelated professional area.
  • 4-yeardegree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business Administration, orrelated major; no experience required.

    Building Brand and Property Awarenessto Drive Revenue

  • Workscollaboratively with local, regional and national resources to build awarenessand increase exposure for the property.
  • Selectsthe best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and propertyneeds.
  • Usescreative selling abilities to obtain maximum exposure through traveljournalists and media outlets.
  • Increasesawareness within the travel media community as well as coordinating events togain exposure and grow revenue.

  • Supports the hotel’s social media efforts, ifapplicable.
  • Workswith online media outlets to promote the hotel.
  • Coordinatesoffers and information for all publications and inserts with regard to brandloyalty reward mailings.
  • Developsbrochure and property collateral materials.
  • Participatesin all property imaging work (e.g., signage).
  • Ensuresconsistent brand and property message is communicated in all public relationsand communications efforts.
  • Building SuccessfulRelationships

  • Buildsand strengthens relationships with existing and new travel writers and localmedia to ensure future exposure. Activities include calls, entertainment, FAMtrips, trade shows, etc.
  • Developsrelationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for salesopportunities and additional revenue.
  • Conductssolicitation and maintenance calls to media.
  • Identifiesand communicates with distribution channels that can sell distress inventory todrive property occupancy.
  • Providesall communications channels with creative and unique tools to assist in the publicrelations and communications of the property.
  • Assistsproperty in developing promotions for various campaigns.
  • Coordinating CommunicationEfforts

  • Providesaccurate, complete and effective communications to visiting journalists,publicity or promotions.
  • Evaluatesnew public relations opportunities for the property.
  • Partnerswith property and corporate leaders in the development of the strategic publicrelations plan for property, includes group, leisure and local efforts.
  • Assistsin managing individual and group media visits.
  • Coordinatescommunity service activities in concert with the public image and needs of theresort.
  • Assistsin creative print fulfillment; ensures corporate branding standards and legalcompliances are met and incorporated into collateral.
  • Supports hotel press releases and other content forprint media and electronic media.
  • Providing Exceptional CustomerService

  • Setsa positive example for guest relations.
  • Interactswith guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels; effectivelyresponds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Observesservice behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and / ormanagers; continuously strives to improve service performance.
  • Conductssite inspections with visiting journalists.
  • Additional Responsibilities

  • Keepsdetailed files and records on all matters relative to property's publicmaterials.
  • Verifiesthat property is following all corporate public relations guidelines.
