About the Role : An exciting position has arisen for a Banquet Manager to join the Conference & Incentives team at Madinat Jumeirah Resort.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that all customers are given consistent high level of service throughout each event.

Your main duties would include :

  • Assists C&I Operation Assistant Director to manage the overall food and beverage function of all Indoor and outdoor venues.
  • Oversees the assignment of duties, responsibilities and workstations to colleagues by Assistant Banquet Managers and Team Leaders
  • Observes and evaluates colleagues and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service is met
  • Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training Assistant Managers and Team Leader to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement
  • Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations
  • Inspects food and beverage preparation to maintain quality standards and hygiene regulations

  • Interacts with management and other departments within area of responsibility and develops working relationships.
  • Ensures the service areas are clean, properly set up, sufficiently supplied and equipped.
  • Checks event orders in a timely manner, prior to function date, finalize service details and requirements no later than 24 hours in advance with last minute changes forwarded to appropriate sections.
  • Prepares the Food and Beverage weekly forecasts.
  • Prepares and maintains standard operating procedures.
  • Attends and conduct staff meetings where the presence is required.
  • Maintains communication with kitchen and other related Food and Beverage departments.
  • Participates in public relation activities, sales calls, or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image of the department.
  • Qualifications

    About You : In order to be considered for this role, you will have a recognized diploma or qualification in Hospitality or F&B Management.

    You should have a minimum of two years’ experience in Banquets and Events Management in a Hotel and must have solid Food & Beverage background and / or strong experience in group handling.

    It is essential that you have strong command of the English language both spoken and written. Proficiency in a second foreign language such as Arabic, Russian, French, German and Chinese would be an advantage.

    You must have excellent leadership skills, ability to work with many nationalities, effective communication and listening skills, decision maker, dynamic, focused, proactive, result-

    oriented, be highly capable to multi-task and manage a wide range of projects simultaneously and have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

    You should also possess computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Delphi and Opera.
