OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Clients & Markets Director, the Business and Data Analyst will play a lead role for data strategy, quality and analytics across the organization.
With exposure to the entire business and customer lifecycle, you will work to optimize the quality, value and use of business data for strategic decision making as well as improving the effectiveness of business development and marketing campaigns to generate business opportunities and growth.
The role will focus on improving KPMG’s data and how it is used to derive business value as well as acting as a champion for data quality across the Firm.
You will use advanced data analytics methodologies to extract insights from business data, perform analysis and build data-driven models to answer strategic business questions and identify hidden relationships to direct new strategies.
You will develop visualizations and presentations to tell data-based stories and influence key stakeholders to implement recommendations from your analysis.
You will also work with colleagues across Service Lines, Business Development, Marketing, CRM and IT, to develop operational processes and best practices.
Major duties and responsibilities
Specific duties associated with this role will include :
Data strategy and quality
Providing strategic guidance and support to service lines and the business development and marketing functions on developing effective data strategies and best practices for capturing, analyzing, utilizing and reporting business and customer information.
Analyzing and evaluating business, business development and marketing data needs.
Developing functional and business process requirements and supporting with required system implementations and testing.
Identifying and collecting data sources using specific tools or techniques.
Serving as a custodian of business databases, and responsible for the maintenance and management of data to ensure data integrity.
Implement data quality checks to set relevant triggers for business
Implement data quality upliftment procedures to manage the quality of data
Data validation and cleansing to ensure the quality and integrity of data in individual systems and consistency in that data across systems.
Data analytics and reporting
Developing prescriptive and predictive data models around services, sectors, client segments and accounts.
Extracting and analyzing key data and information to meet the Firm’s information needs and guide and support business development and marketing strategies and activities.
Identifying different customer profiles, and carrying out the optimization of business development and marketing activities by defining market sectors and segments and customer selection based on customer profiling and segmentation.
Providing useful insights on customers, services, key trends and factors as well as the effectiveness of marketing and business development campaigns.
Identifying hidden relationships in data to direct new strategies.
Developing visualizations and presentations to tell data-based stories.
Providing timely and accurate management reporting.
CRM, business application and business process improvement
Identifying, recommending, and implementing data quality and efficiency improvements to CRM, business applications and business processes
Leading integration of data and processes across systems to ensure consistency and drive increased value from data.
Translate business requirements into system and functional requirements and support implementation and testing
Planning, developing, implementing, and supporting new or existing CRM and business application functions and processes.
Providing support for CRM and business application projects as applicable in the organization
Education requirements :
Qualified to bachelor’s degree level in Business, Marketing, or Statistics, or in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Finance, or Economics.
Work experience requirements :
5-6 years post-qualification experience ideally gained in a large corporate background
Working knowledge or experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similarly structured CRM application and CRM / database marketing and customer analytics
Expertise in SQL and Python
Sales operations, business development or marketing experience a plus
Knowledge / Technical Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to deliver insightful ideas using data
Prior working knowledge of MS Dynamics CRM
Expertise in writing complex SQL queries as well as programming in Python
Expertise in cleaning unstructured data in flat files
Highly proficient in MS Excel
Able to undertake data analysis using advanced statistical tools such as Python
Demonstrated practical experience in data visualization and interactive report building to tell data-based stories (PowerBI preferred but demonstrated experience in Tableau / Data Studio etc. a positive)
Working knowledge of Alteryx will be an added advantage
Ability to synthesis large data to derive meaningful insights, and understanding of statistics
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and able to communicate quantitative information in a clear and informative manner
Ability to develop working relationships with all levels i.e. most senior to junior people
