Having an experience in similar position for atleast 24 months with a great Interpersonal skills and good level of knowledgeof the Laundry Department Skills and Knowledge Strong Communication skills in English verbal listening writing An effective Team Player in a team basedenvironment Effective time management skills Innovative Proactive and reliable Able to work alone and within a team Able to do shift workEducation or Certification Good level of English essentialSPECIFIC DUTIESThe following are specific responsibilities andcontributions critical to the successful performance of the position Managing the daytoday operations of the plantlaundry and uniforms ensuring the quality standards and meeting theexpectations of our guests and Associates Manage and supervise the contracted laundry anddry cleaning services of Associates uniforms rooms linen and terry F Blinen and Spa linen and terry with outsource laundry company Linencraft Managing and supervising laundry and uniformsassociates and understanding their positions Identify stained or damaged items and determinestatus for repair spot treatment rewash or discard Inspect linens and terry for damage and removefrom circulation as necessary Communicating the importance of safetyprocedures ensuring employee understanding of safety codes monitoringprocesses and procedures related to safety Comprehends budget operating statements andpayroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of thedepartment Brings Associates issues to the Director ofServices Executive Housekeeper and Human Resources as necessary Manage and supervise Plant Laundry shiftoperations and ensures compliance with all policies standards and procedures To carry out Brand Standard checks within thedepartment Ordering and managing necessary supplies Ensuring associates have supplies equipment tools and uniforms necessary todo their jobs Works effectively with Engineering Departmenton the laundry and uniform room equipment maintenance need Participate in departmental meetings andcontinually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding thedepartmental goals to produce the desired results To provide assistance support and training toall levels of the Laundry and Uniforms team taking corrective measures shouldthe standard of work deviate from the hotel standards To conduct with all team members 1 on1 meetingsand staff appraisals To assist in building and maintaining an efficientteam of staff by taking an active interests in their welfare health safetytraining and development To assist in the stock taking of all linen andequipment etc at regular intervals preparing the results highlighting anyshortages or surpluses and undertaking remedial action where appropriate To assist in monitoring departmental costswhilst using resource effectively and economically to ensure expenses are keptto a minimum To assist the office coordinator to ensure costeffective staffing levels and usage of supplies and to be fully conversantwith relevant accounting procedures and records keeping To assist organize and supervise deepcleaningand special cleaning Curtains Carpets of all areas under jurisdiction asrequired to maintain the highest of standard To assist in the selection of equipment products and services as necessary To assist and advise on the installation orchanging departmental systems or procedures and to ensure all departmentalpractices and procedures to be confident in their implementation To assist with the recruitment and section ofdepartment employees To assist in the preparation of weekly Rota andwages Forecast actual To ensure all requests from guests are carriedout To be fully conversant with standard cleaningprocedures and the correct usage and dosage of each cleaning chemical To ensure any guest complaints are investigatedand rectified to the guest s satisfaction immediately Any serious complaintsshould be referred to Executive Housekeeper Director of Services for hisattention To ensure that all Laundry Associates hand overall lost property as soon as it is found and that it is recorded according tothe hotel standard Attends meetings and training sessions coursesthat may be beneficial to you and your department on request from your Directorof Services and Executive Housekeeper Have a good knowledge of all hotel facilitiesand be able to answer guest questions in a quick polite and helpful manner Follows all procedures set up for theprotection of the environment within the hotel and grounds Celebrates successes and publicly recognizesthe contributions of team members ensures Associates recognition is takingplace on all shifts OTHERSafety and Security Report work related accidents or otherinjuries immediately upon occurrence to manager supervisor Follow company and department safety andsecurity policies and procedures to ensure a clean safe and secureenvironment Notify Loss Prevention Security of any guest reportsof theft Policiesand Procedures Follow company hotel and department policiesand procedures Follows Marriott International Hotels LimitedRegional Office policies and proceduresJW
