Job Description Reconciliation and CASS Manager, EMEA Position Title : Reconciliation and CASS Manager, EMEADepartment : OperationsLocation : UKTitle of Direct Supervisor : Head, EMEA OperationsSummaryReporting to the Head, EMEA Operations, the Reconciliation and CASS Manager for the EMEA region is directly responsible for managing a team of reconciliation administrators and specialists.
Whilst managing the team, it will be imperative the successful candidate is able to balance their workload ensuring specific CASS requirements are executed upon, whether this be daily client money and asset reconciliations, monthly CMAR and CASS governance production and / or annual audits.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of custody and cash position data is maintained within our internal systems through our daily internal and external client money and client asset reconciliations.
Part of this process involves comparing external data to our proprietary software Shareworks, completing a daily client money calculation, creating and understanding the Individual Client Balances and cash book operation.
As a part of the reconciliation process the successful candidate will be expected to be able to identify, report upon and resolve client money and client asset breaches and breaks in accordance with applicable CASS rules, and be knowledgeable of associated timeframes for doing so.
The candidate must also be aware of both the non-standard and standard methods of reconciliation and how to execute upon them.
The candidate should be a strong people manager with overall responsibility for leading and developing a team that is highly motivated and accomplished in their existing roles.
ResponsibilitiesThe Reconciliation and CASS Manager, EMEA is responsible for managing the processes and future team members through all stages of reconciliation and CASS related functions, including but not limited to the following : Daily client money calculation Internal and external client money reconciliations Internal and external client asset reconciliations.
Daily breach management, to include identification reporting / escalation and resolution. Weekly reconciliation MI Monthly CASS governance MI CMAR completion and submission 3rd party vendor management including banks and custodians Provide direct oversight of the Reconciliation team, including training, management, leadership and performance evaluation Provide daily support and direction to the team on all CASS related items Manage dividends and any other corporate action activity with third party custodians Utilise and effectively manage all reconciliation breaks, this process will include in-depth analysis of the breaks, communicating breaks to relevant departments and working with associated departments to facilitate resolution Understand, manage, reduce and control corporate risk Assist the team in the relationship with Shareworks partners, internal and external clients, where appropriate Track open issues and handle crisis situations requires varied experience and a mature perspective Regularly interact with other Shareworks teams, both in customer service and the product team, to provide leadership and input for Reconciliation related issues, concerns and efficiencies Provide guidance and thought leadership within Shareworks on existing market regulatory / legal framework & any changes that impact operations and settlement, particularly in relation to CASS and the FRCAccountabilities Adherence to CASS processes and controls including monthly CMAR reporting Act as primary contact for audit where reconciliation testing and process reviews are required Execute upon any remediation activity within specified timeframes Monitor accuracy of transactions identifying areas for improvement and training Identify areas for automation with the goal of reducing dependence on manual processes Identify areas of process weakness and define corrective action to address these Assist in the development of training guides, sessions and documentation of reconciliation and CASS processes Develop strong knowledge of all Shareworks applications
