Description HEAD OF SPORT (EDUCATIONAL STRATEGIC LEAD)
Aldar Academies are currently seeking a Head of Sport to provide strategic leadership of Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools delivering innovation and excellence, growing partnerships and ultimately increasing participation at all levels of competition across our schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
Main duties and responsibilities :
Lead the strategic development and management of Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools Sport.
Contribute to the overall Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools objectives of improvements in teaching & learning, engagement with enterprise, increased international profile and improvement of the student and staff experience;
Develop and manage partnerships, at Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools, national and international level, positioning and promoting the schools as the foremost establishments in the UAE for promoting participation in sport and physical activity at all levels of competition and for all ages of student;
Develop a world leading high performance sport environment that maximises sporting talent and student academic performance, integrating sports science & medicine, sports technology research, coaching, education and other support services.
Ensure that the Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools human and financial resources have been optimally managed to achieve a sustainable environment for the delivery and promotion of sport and physical activity at all levels;
Support and seek ways to further enhance and develop the provision of sport by the respective staff and Physical Education Departments within the Aldar Academies and ADNOC Schools;
Lead the negotiation and delivery of strategic agreements with relevant committees and organisations for any future hosting opportunities
Implement consistent policies, procedures and standards for participation in sports and physical activities, e.g. health & safety, resource management etc.
within and across the schools and monitor adherence to the policies and standards
Ensure that all Academies schools deliver high quality services which are competitive with those offered by other leading international private schools
Work within the context of negotiated service level agreements. Set out and manage clear expectations (KPIs) for service delivery.
Report on and monitor progress against agreed service levels.
Assess needs, and recommend internal and external support arrangements and contracts required to deliver an effective sports offer in the schools;
undertaking associated monitoring, CPD audits and needs analysis as required
Establish the Sports Capital & Revenue budgetary requirements, arrange the sourcing of resources, manage income and expenditure and ensure best value for money for spend
Maintain full inventory of Sports assets and consumables, including planning for replacements on an appropriate timescale.
The position requires :
Master or BA Degree in Sport Science or related field
Detailed knowledge of sports education and young people, and proven experience in sports administration and marketing
Close relationships and strategic alliances with a variety of community personnel and groups including sponsors
