Outstanding job opportunity with the leadingShipping & Maritime Company in Middle East where theincumbent will ensure the proper implementation ofthe ISM / ISPS codes , bothon-board the ships and in the office.
Also, the job holder will beaccountable for monitoring the safety andpollution prevention aspects of the operation of each ship andensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support areapplied, as required.
Conductingof ISM, ISPS andMLC Internal Audits on board shipsoperating globally.
Presents ISM mattersto the highest level of management and gain sustained support forsafety management system improvements.
Analysing working practices, writing reports,detecting deficiencies and non- conformities,
Introducing and monitoring corrective measures in co-operation with the Management, the Department Heads at the officeand the ship's command
Conducting / reviewing shipboard Risk Assessments.
Gathersand analyzes data from hazardous occurrences, hazardoussituations, near, incidents and accidents and apply the lessonslearnt to improve the safety management system within the Companyand its ships.
Responsible for ensuring thateach vessel is compliant with the latest safety regulations and inaddition is operated according to changing environmentalrestrictions and regional guidelines.
Qualification Required :
Designated Person should have a minimum of formaleducation as follows :
Qualifications from a tertiary institution recognized bythe Administration or by the recognized organization, within arelevant field of management, engineering or physical science,or
Qualifications and seagoing experience as acertified ship officer pursuant tothe International Convention on Standards ofTraining, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW),1978, or
Other formaleducation combined with not less than three years practical seniorlevel experience in ship management operations.
