Job Role : Operations TechnologyDivision

Manage and develop the operationalcomputing systems, SCADA hardware and communication systems thatare used by DCC / DMS for real-time monitoring, control, metering andsettlement operations

KeyResponsibilities / Accountabilities

Growth & Sustainability related :

  • Lead and manage employees in the Division inperforming their delegated tasks
  • Leadand align the cascade of directorate’s goals intodivisional goals, objectives and programs
  • Contribute to the development of overallDirectorate and also develop Division’s operatingexpenses budgets including the manpower budget
  • Lead the preparation of reports on the overallperformance of the Division
  • Lead thereview of all periodic reports prepared by the Division to ensurethat they are prepared in a timely manner
  • Lead and quality assure all services and workproducts delivered by the Division
  • Ensure that the performance of various tasks and the conduct of thestaff in the Division are in accordance with the policies andprocedures
  • Lead continuousimprovement by introducing innovation and excellence in businessprocesses aligned to leading practices and ADDC innovation andexcellence frameworks
  • Customer related :

  • Lead allcustomer facing transactions in line with ADDC customer strategyresulting in higher satisfaction and timely delivery ofservices
  • Ensure that customer needs,problems and requests are recorded and addressed in a timelymanner
  • Ensure the delivery of aworld-class customer experience
  • Support the customer focused culture minimizing disruption toimpacted customers ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Operational Excellencerelated :

  • Support and maintain SCADAand communication system
  • Manage thegathering, processing & reporting of operational andfinancial information to satisfy ADDC’s licenseobligations
  • Coordinate theinterface with corporate SCADA & Communicationinfrastructure of business applications to ensure corporatestrategies, standards, policies and procedures are applied whereapplicable
  • Coordination of regulatoryaudits and annual submissions information
  • Support the evaluation of new technologyoptions, assess these are per DCC’s needs and giveappropriate advice and recommendations to DCC management
  • Participate in tender document preparation ,technical evaluation and ensure that projects related toSCADA department are one according ADDCstandards
  • Facilitating thedevelopment of a strong relationship with the Asset ManagementDirectorate, Connection Services Division and theProject
  • Delivery Divisionto help develop strong, cross-directorate working and thedevelopment of an effective organisation
  • Performance DrivenOrganization related :

  • Ensure thatthe performance of various tasks and the conduct of the staff inthe Division are in accordance with the policies andprocedures
  • Promote cross functionalcollaboration across ADDC business units
  • Ensure availability of required resources tocarry out all the tasks related to the Division
  • Communicate ADDC, directorate and divisionlevel strategic objectives to ensure team is aware and understandsthem
  • Promote ADDCs corporate cultureand values through personal actions and coaching
  • Ensure timely completion of people performancemanagement activities in the Division
  • Review (as a second / third level reviewer) and discuss with theappraiser, areas of concern, if any, and approve periodicperformance appraisals of Divisional employees
  • Perform periodic performance appraisals for alldirect reports
  • Lead theidentification and recruitment of the required external experts,advisors, consultants, etc. needed to support Divisional goals,functions and activities
  • Lead theidentification of the required skills and knowledge and nominatestaff to attend appropriate training programs (in coordination withTalent Management department)
  • Leadthe identification of technology needs to ensure that divisionalprocesses are performed efficiently and cost effectively (incoordination with the IT department)
  • In addition to the above, the incumbent shallalso perform all other duties assigned by line manager
  • Technical :

  • PreferredQualifications :

  • Minimumof Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electronics orcomputers) or equivalent
  • PreferredExperience :

  • Minimumof 10 years
