The GlobalFixed Income team within MSIM (Morgan Stanley Investment Management) has teammembers located in New York, London, Tokyo and Singapore managing Fixed Incomeportfolios for a broad range of clients.

The London-based part of theFixed Income team works closely with their global colleagues to manage the riskfor European based portfolios, generate ideas for global portfolios, and workwith the other functions within MSIM to provide quality, professional supportboth to internal and external clients.

There is an opportunity for anambitious individual to join the European Fixed Income team as a CreditAnalyst.

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Associate / Vice President-level credit analyst toprovide fundamental analysis of European Investment Grade and High Yieldcorporate issuers as well as sector research and make investmentrecommendations for institutional account portfolios.

This includesperforming financial and credit analysis of names within coverage sectors as wellas relative value analysis.

The successful candidate should be able todevelop and defend credit investment recommendations based on fundamental andrelative value analysis, working closely with portfolio management and tradingon adequate portfolio sizing.

Responsibilities will include :

Performing financial and credit analysis of names within coveragesectors

Preparing financial forecasts, comparable company analyses and valuationmodels

Developing relative value opinions on credits and individual debtsecurities

  • Write and defend credit investment recommendations
  • Monitor market developments and quarterly financial performance of namesto determine credit pricing impact

    Work with portfolio management and trading to recommend portfolioposition sizing

    Assist in gathering and analyzing industry and macro data to identifytrends and help develop broad views of corporate credit and sector allocation

    Extensive usage ofExcel, Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other technology applications

    Qualifications

  • Considerable prior relevant experience gained within a similar buy / sell-side role or rating agency
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively work in a small team with multiple tasks
  • Good knowledge of credit analysis, financial accounting, complex capital structures and high yield covenant packages
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, financial forecasting, effective writing and communication and facility with technology applications
  • Flexible approach to workload and demands of role ability to prioritise
  • Proven academic and professional achievement; educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Prior experience in mentoring junior team members a plus
  • Progress toward, or completion of, a CFA qualification highly advantageous
