Responsible for the day-to-day network activities in the diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution of network end user personal computer systems network problems and issues as well as the maintenance of servers, infrastructure, system installations, configuration and overall administration.

  • Responsible for diagnostic, trouble shooting, and resolving network systems problems so as to minimize down time of network applications and personnel with the incumbent adept in activities so as to recognize, identify, diagnose and isolate problems with computer hardware and software.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware and all configurations.
  • Receive escalated calls from technicians to resolve major, critical and complex computer network problems.
  • Carry out PC computer and communications network related projects in line with agreed time and cost targets.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve network / system problems and replace defective components as necessary.
  • Coordinate critical network problems with appropriate technical systems administrators, programmers, and development and service personnel to resolve user application problems / issues.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain network, email applications or virus protection software.
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
  • Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
  • Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
  • Perform other duties as required.
