Aldar Academies are seeking an outstanding Classroom Assistant for itsSEN Department commencing this August 2018. The successful candidate will provide support and assistance to students with learning supportneeds, to promote their educational and social development in order that theyaccess a curriculum tailored to build on areas of strength and address areas ofrelative weakness.
Delivereffective learning activities, tailoring support to the needs of the individualpupils in a secondary / primary context, in partnership with teachers and otherprofessionals as necessary.
Deliverlocal and international intervention programs to support students accessing asecondary / primary curriculum in English as an additional language, reporting torelevant teaching staff.
Workwith students with learning support needs, including those on the Autismspectrum, specific learning difficulties and those with behavior disorders todevelop effective social communication and self-
regulation skills, promotingwellbeing in the secondary / primary context.
Underthe direction of the teacher, will work independently with individual childrenand small groups.
Providing contributing to oral and written assessments, reports orreferences relating to individual pupils and groups of students.
Provide appropriate help throughout the day, including break andlunchtime monitoring and pre-and post-school activities as necessary.
Maintain a high level of pastoral care to vulnerable pupils withinthe class and throughout the school.
Maintain and promote a positive image of the school to children,parents and visitors.
To attend any training courses relevant to the post, ensuringcontinuing, personal and professional development.
Role requires working with a team.
Ability to present oneself as a role model to pupils in speech,behavior and attitude.
The Post holder may undertake any other duties that are commensuratewith the post.
All applicants must hold a valid Residents Visa (Under spouse or Father)
Bachelor Degree or a relevant post-secondary qualification.
Evidence of skills and expertise to support pupil learning.
Experience of working with students of relevant age in a learning environment / school setting.
Experience of delivering programs of learning for individuals, groups and whole classes.
Working knowledge and understanding of (British) National Curriculum / statutory frameworks relating to teaching.
Working knowledge of relevant school policies / codes of practice / legislation.
Desirable to hold a valid First Aid certificate.
