Job Description

Manage the payroll activities to ensure the accurate and timely payroll production and other employee related payments in alignment with the finance department and Human Resources strategy and procedures, UAE statutory requirements and IFRS.

Payroll Management

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Manage the periodic Payroll process and other employee related activities, (like reimbursements, Per Diem, EOS etc.) ensuring accuracy and timeline of completion.

Oversee the preparation of a variety of payroll related documents (e.g. Overpayments, retirement plan transfers, payroll register, stop payments, worker’s compensation checks, etc.

for the purpose of documenting activities and issues; meeting compliance requirements, and providing audit references.

Respond to written and verbal inquiries for the purpose of providing information and / or direction.

Report to management on the status of Payroll activity, including implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Process and Control

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Implement the policies and procedures, including the HR policies and manual, as it relates to processing employee payment so that protocols are in place.

Participate in the Monthly General Ledger payroll reconiliation to provide full sulpport on all accounts payable related balance sheet accounts and ensure that all periodic close activities are performed as per set close calendar.

Continuous Improvement & Book of Knowledge

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Review and assess the existing processes to ensure process improvement, increased efficiencies and more robust workflows.

Capture and share lessons learned and other useful knowledge that will enhance the Eneterprise’s (Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), Nawah and Barakah One Company (BOC)) ability to deliver a cost-effective, sustainable, safe and transparent NPP program.

Operational Planning

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Provide input into the development of the Department’s systems and processes, as well develop and implement the Section’s procedures, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Section, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.

Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section’s requirements and standards.

Health and Safety, Security, and Business Continuity

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Section by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.

Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.

Ensure the compliance with Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents or business disruptions in order to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.

People Management

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Manage the effective achievement of the Organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal constructive feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and Section’s performance.

Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.

Contribute to knowledge dissemination / sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance.

Skills

Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant discipline.

12 years of payroll experience.

Technical Competency :

Knowledge on UAE legislation and requirements regarding employee compensation and benefits (both for UAE Nationals and expats).

Conflict Management and Problem Solving Skills

Computer Literacy (MS Office, Statistical Tools).

Technical understanding of transactional accounting in ERP systems
