As a you will ensure a smooth and efficientoperation within the Maintenance Department in relation to the Company CoreProcesses.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on the maintenance offacilities and equipment which include state of the art rides and attractions.
The Rides Engineer applies a workingknowledge of engineering fundamentals to the division’s engineering activitiesunder the direction of Rides and Attractions Management, including the TeamLeaders, Assistant Manager, Manager and Maintenance Director.
The Rides Engineer is also required tointeract with other personnel to provide project-related engineering supportincluding those in QA, Manufacturing, and Procurement.
The Rides Engineer maylead or mentor other engineers, designers, and technicians during variousproject phases.
This position involves the design,production support, integration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, andcommissioning of ride and show control systems both in the factory and in thefield.
You will maintain, erect, repair and troubleshoot various theme park rides and attractions as directed.
You will visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions and perform troubleshooting.
You will perform visual inspections of assigned rides and attractions as necessary and will be able to train junior staff for inspections as necessary.
You will remove, install, repair and test all electromechanical equipment of rides, animation and attractions.
You will perform other maintenance functions within theme park and assist other Maintenance Colleagues as needed by maintenance leads.
You will troubleshoot complex state of the art equipment.
You will independently perform difficult engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, unusual materials requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others.
You will provide feedback and technical perspective into the design during the design phase reviews.
You will perform assembly, integration, factory testing, and maintenance / repairs on equipment / systems within your area of expertise in accordance with appropriate standards and procedures and in accordance with appropriate Safety Standards.
As an ideal candidate, you must have :
You have a Technical Diploma / Degree or related qualification in relation to this role
You have three to five (3-5) years’ direct hands-on experience in the area of expertise (mechanical, electro-hydraulic, electrical / electronic) You need have experience with equipment significantly similar to amusement attractions / theme parks.
You have practical skills and proficient knowledge in two or more trades, such as : mechanical, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and small combustion engine repair and maintenance
You have a solid understanding of hardware, bolted connections, and torque
