Role Details - KeyResponsibilities and Accountabilities :

LogisticsOptimization

  • Helpdefine, maintain and implement the Supply Chain (Import / Exportoperations procedures.
  • SOP application byensuring the respect product carton marking Supply Chain Guidelinesby easing EAN 14 case barcode compatible with future sorter in DC(training to Merchandise & to suppliers).
  • Ensure the correct application of scope of applicationsby logistics service providers
  • Deploysolutions to lower our distribution costs with suppliers(backhauling with supplier, full pallet receiving with EAN 128labels, cross-docking with sorters)
  • Implementthe developed logistics plan and ensure its consistency with theinternational plan
  • Ensure that contracts withlogistics providers are in line with current business practices,propose modifications to improve the quality of services
  • Ensure all store orders are well executed by DC and aredelivered on time to stores at the lowest cost
  • Implement the Strategic flow set-up per type ofcommodity / origin.
  • Guide the Merchandise teamto reach 100% container optimization for each new importitems / supplier in weight / volumes (palletization type, removingempty pallets, goods stacking method)
  • Be awarrant of the logistics Data accuracy for each item (unit, carton,pallet) on the systems.
  • Support theimplementation of the new copacking facility in our DC to bundlecommodities as per customer demands following procurement of rawmaterials
  • Reporting

  • Ensure proper reporting and documentations forall import / export operations procedures
  • Ensure that KPI's provided by logistics serviceproviders meet the targets defined
  • Guaranteethe information provided to finance is accurate and given ontime
  • Ensure that the export logistics servicesproviders upload accurate information and documents in the ExportTransport System
  • Ensure that goods areexported on time at the expected dates with the right quantities,good quality and in the most efficient way to meet countryrequests
  • SupplierInteractions

  • Participate in the supplier sourcing by ensuringsuppliers are well aware of import guidelines and rules to respectand implement actions to achieve the lowest distribution cost tothe company.
  • Administrative

  • Propose solutions to merchandise team toimport and export products
  • Follow-up of theclearance process to ensure the release of the goods in the fastestmanner
  • Ensure the implementation of localregulations in import and export activities and anticipate theirevolution
  • Share the database of exportablerange ingredients and specifications list for new and updateditems
  • Maintain the list of countriesdocumentation requirements and ensure the documentation used iscompliant to destination country regulations
  • Provide accurate information to Merchandise Manager inthe country and destination countries
  • Maintainthe ordering to delivery calendar updates for all promotionalevents
  • Propose measures to reduce insurancerisks for the company
  • Control that storeclaims are treated and answered to the stores
  • Develop and maintain a database to record differentbarcodes for relevant stakeholders
  • Oversee thestandardization process of barcodes and other databasemetrics
  • FinancialResponsibilities

  • Calculate the landed costs, ensuring they are consistentwith the actual costs and convey this information to themerchandise team and propose solutions to reduce landed costs withsame quality of services.
  • Control the importand logistics waste and propose actions to reduce it
  • Calculate the Total Logistics Cost from supplier toreceiving per BU to validate the best flow (Direct, DC)
  • Benchmark logistics and freight forwarders and proposealternative
  • HumanCapital Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the performancemanagement process by setting objectives, monitoring performance,and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to seniormanagement
  • Provide mentorship for the purposeof developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with theHC department to ensure facilitation of trainingrequirements
  • Develop and implement on thejob-training for the team
  • Provide inputs forthe development of annual manpower plan
  • Ensurethe implementation of MAF Retail's corporate policies andrelevant procedures
