The purpose of the MSEHSE Group Legal Department is to provide legal and regulatory advice to protect the MSEHSE Group’s financial wellbeing and reputation, and to assist the businesses and operations of the MSEHSE Group to understand legal risk and to comply with relevant financial services related laws, regulations, Morgan Stanley policies and standards.
The MSEHSE Group Legal Department is part of Morgan Stanley’s global legal division under the overall responsibility of the Chief Legal Officer. Role Profile
This is a legal and regulatory role for a candidate with experience of regulatory law issues and knowledge of European financial regulatory and supervisory practices.
The role will involve assisting with the day to day management of our EU regulatory relationships and providing advisory support to the Supervisory and Management Boards and other members of the wider management team of the Morgan Stanley German group in relation to the Firm’s EU regulatory relationships.
The individual will also be expected to provide ad hoc support to various internal functions, including Risk, Finance and Operations on prudential regulatory issues and to provide coverage support on regulatory reform projects as required.
For the right candidate, this position offers the opportunity to enhance their financial services expertise and experience in regulatory issues and to work closely with all divisions in a key phase of Morgan Stanley’s development in Frankfurt.
The role reports to the Head of Regulatory Relations of the MSEHSE Group, an Executive Director in Legal.#LI-RG1 Primary Responsibilities - Provide strategic regulatory advice and guidance to divisions with the aim of maintaining open, productive and proactive relationships with the regulators.
Act as a key point of contact for identified divisions in all regulatory relationship matters.
providing guidance and regulatory context for the request; consolidation and checking of responses / submissions to facilitate consistency of messages and ensure they meet the regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
Skills required (essential) - Good understanding of EU regulatory landscape and expectations regarding risk and control infrastructure
