Bachelor degree in Nursing with minimum 1year experience . License is not required.
Auxiliary nurses also perform clinical support roles underthe supervision of health care professionals includingphysiotherapists, nutritionists, pediatricians and speech andlanguage therapists.
Duties vary widely depending on the form oftherapy administered. Nurses may have to help patients mentallyprepare for therapy sessions or set up equipment required for asession.
They may also play a more proactive role and assist thetherapist in actual treatment. Auxiliary nurses in this role play akey administrative duty, taking notes and keeping accurate recordsof patients’ medical histories.
When performing theseduties, auxiliary nurses are sometimes referred to as assistanttherapists or therapist helpers.
