Job Title Manager Commercial

Job Description :

  • To be actively involved in Strategic Planning and development for Shipping lines focusing on both short and long term planning
  • To be the primary point-of-contact for all Main shipping lines / Feeder Operators and NVOCC, set and agree on operational KPI's with each customer, draft yearly volume, revenue and cost budgets in liaison with container terminal operations

    To establish Container Terminal pricing model, review and recommend tailor-made packages based on risk and volume contribution.

    Lead contract negotiations and ensure they are concluded in line with the overall guidelines.

    To initiate meetings with Legal on complex contracts / agreements with new leads (project or new line of business) and finalize contracts / agreements with customers.

    To understand Main Line networking and identify opportunities to attract transshipment volume in Jebel Ali.

    To be continuously updated and aware of developing market trends, opportunities and anticipated changes in advance and accordingly be able to provide tailor made solutions to address these changes.

    To ensure complete awareness of local market requirements, trends and be able to address any concerns with the customers.

    To build strong relationships and partnerships with the customers.

    To explore business of import and export, tap into new business opportunities, and perform initial feasibility analysis, based on new trade roots, proactively finds new ways to build the business and grow accounts.

    To develop innovative revenue and volume enhancement models and present same to management.

    Actively monitor Main Line and NVOCC performance and understand and variances with development and implementation of suitable action plan to ensure volume retention and growth.

    To promote DP World facilities and services and represent DP World at events, exhibitions and conferences as appropriate.

    To respond to all kinds of customer demands / queries and requirements 24x7, prepare visit plans (including frequencies / year), hold monthly interfaces for each customer, conduct regular customer visits and presentations, demonstrate working knowledge of each area of clients resources / products to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

    To ensure detailed customer profiles are established and up to date business plans for each customer, maintain updated list of all Container Terminal business main shipping lines / Feeders and NVOCC.

    To monitor and analyze service changes and mix changes on main shipping lines account and establish impact, discuss changes with customer and management.

    To support in developing and implementing business strategies in line with departmental objectives of retaining customers based on ever evolving market focusing on volume, competition projects in the region, changes to historic practices, customers' expectations, revenue leakage, reduction in operational cost and various factors.

    To lead and represent commercial in operational team and operational management meetings for addressing concerns of the customers, justify business variations, follow up and resolution of the issues.

    To review accounts receivables monthly and take corrective action when needed, prepare monthly and quarterly productivity KPI report per customer / service, measure performance against budget, monthly volume and revenue, weekly volume and compare it to subsequent years.

    To be responsible for all customer communications, conflict resolution, ensure complaints are logged into the CRM and liaise with customer service section to ensure that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner.

    To ensure use of Dubai Trade E - suite is promoted towards the customers, based on customer feedback provide input to the customer care department on the need of new E services on Dubai Trade or new EDI services.

    To liaise with relevant business units (Customs, EHS, EZW, Government Relations) to resolve complex issues addressed by port pertaining to customers.

    To conduct proper market intelligence with BI prior to meeting the customers, keep informed regarding industry / market information, build and maintain key relationship with local associations within the shipping community, local agency houses and relevant conferences.

    To periodically report to the Senior Manager, providing regular input on the allocated accounts performance including status and call reports on a weekly basis.
