An exciting opportunity for a candidate with a solid background in freight forwarding in our Key Account department to join our team in the Dubai branch.
The Key Account Manager for Technology Vertical (KAM) is an account management role that is primarily responsible for managing, developing, and expanding business for one or more of DSVs global clients along with top quality customer experience.
One of the key objectives for the KAM is develop trusted long-term solutions and relationships with selected accounts. The KAM will be expected to identify new business prospects and ensures positive margins and growth of existing customer portfolio along with desired service levels The KAM must have the ability to travel freely in the region as needed.
They must excel in working remotely and virtually to reach customers and internal stakeholders on a timely, cost effective, and carbon reduced basis.
The KAM is expected to closely work with Global Account Director and Technology Vertical Lead and is expected to contribute and execute the strategy for the account and the Technology vertical.
Reporting Line : Report to : Global Head Industry Vertical Detailed Responsibilities : Identifies independently, business opportunities in the existing portfolio and converts opportunities into revenue in line with annual budget Participates as an active member of the global account team at the account level and industry vertical level.
Develops and maintains expert level knowledge of their assigned account(s). Develops and executes customer account plan to retain and grow customer revenues and relationships.
Monitors account performance through regular review meetings with operations, customer service and support functions (example - finance, billing, quality) to ensure all aspects of the business is on track.
Implements, promotes, and monitors the execution of account plans and objectives. Stays informed on market trends and developments with their assigned accounts and within the logistics arena.
Use knowledge to create value added solutions for customers. Identify opportunities within customer account and engages colleagues and line businesses to implement them.
Develop management reports to track KPI's. Conducts quarterly business reviews with customer to review metrics, discusses business opportunities and operational challenges.
Maintains direct customer contact while demonstrating both the business development skills and 'technical' knowledge to make presentations, and lead customer discussions.
Demonstrates the necessary skills to negotiate issues for effective outcomes. Acts as single point of contact for and actively maintain relationships with key stakeholders within both the customer organization and DSV.
Maintains a high level of communications and transparency on customer activities. Qualifications & Characteristics : Possesses at minimum a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Supply Chain or Business Studies area preferred. Minimum 4 years of industry experience with deep knowledge & experience in Technology Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite : Word, Excel, Teams, Access, and PowerPoint Advanced English (reading, writing, verbal) Passionate and highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and in team Pragmatic, proactive, and hands-on manager committed to deliver results and making things happen Sets clear objectives and goals clearly and can implement such activities in the organization effectively Positive and expansive mindset and culturally sensitive and understanding of diversity and different perspectives.
