General Description of Role and Responsibilities :

Reviewing contract with ADAC

Reviewing the tenders and contract documentation for individual package

Coordinating / liaising, as necessary, to address all correspondence to and from the client and / or the contractor that raise a contractual issue

Meeting / liaising with the Contractor / Consultant to resolve outstanding / ongoing contractual issues

Drafting correspondence on behalf of PD, including responses to letters, etc., received from the contractors, other consultants, authorities, ADACFM, etc.

Reviewing requests for change and drafting recommendations to the client

Drafting and issuing an instruction to implement client requested requirements

Reviewing all claims for entitlement and issuing an appropriate recommendation to ADAC

Making recommendations to the client on entitlement issues

Making recommendations to the client as to the duration of an extension of time

Advising cost engineer / consultant as to the percentages of completed works / earned value for further processing of payment applications

Making recommendations to the client regarding payments, after receiving the cost consultant recommendation as to the amount of payment

Attendance and participation if monthly progress meetings

Scheduling contract / commercial / claim meetings / workshops

Chairing contract / commercial / claim meetings

Preparing and issuing meeting minutes

Chairing workshops

Creating a tracking log for variation, claims, etc. for your package

Documenting and tracking late and or non-performance of the contractor / consultant of your package

Review contract requirements for testing and commissioning

Such other requests from the PD.

Qualifications

Degree in construction or legal related discipline or similar

Minimum 15 years experience in the handling and management of claims and disputes on major infrastructure projects; less than 15 years’ experience considered if the substantive experience is significant

Professional accreditation and membership of industry-leading and internationally recognized institute(s)

Extensive experience working with FIDIC suite of contracts

Wide-ranging experience of roles and positions within the construction industry including roles with clients and contractors / subcontractors
