The role

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate / Senior Associate for our Dispute Resolution matters for the Korea Group

Provide consultancy services to the clients

  • Build report with the client
  • Identify clients' needs
  • Analyze the client’s needs
  • Estimate time and resource needed to complete the work
  • Communicate and agree steps forward
  • Respond to the clients needs as per agreed deliverables
  • Always attempt to exceed expectations
  • Meet billings and collection targets

  • Ensure an average billing of 5 hours / working day
  • Communicate payment terms and conditions upfront with clients
  • Where possible negotiate an upfront retainer payment
  • Follow up on outstanding payments with clients
  • Notify credit control if payments need to be followed up
  • Interacting with team members

  • Communicate matters clearly and in writing when needed
  • Apply discipline while interacting with others
  • Keep promises, demand the same from others
  • Treat people as equals regardless of their position
  • Be proactive in showing willingness to assist others
  • Praise colleagues for jobs well done
  • Report your activities

  • Prepare daily time sheets
  • Document activities so that complete handovers are possible
  • Scheduling your time

  • Prepare a daily, weekly and monthly plan
  • Share your plan with the departmental secretary
  • Analyse completion of tasks and apply leaning experience
  • Be accountable to yourself and to others
  • Meet your marketing targets

  • Write one article per month
  • Identify possible networking activities
  • Participate in networking activities
  • Maintain operational records

  • Maintain files in a structured manner with index
  • Agree with partner and secretary where information is kept, spot-check the system regularly for compliance
  • Skills and experience

    The ideal candidate will have :

  • 5-10 years Litigation / Construction / Arbitration experience
  • Qualifying jurisdiction : UK / US
  • Languages : English and Korean
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • Fluent in English and Korean
  • Experience in clients management;
  • Experience in team management;
  • Business development acumen;
  • By working on assigned tasks you are expected or exceed the billing target of 5 hours per working day.

    While interacting with clients and potential clients you will act as 'ambassador' for the organization, be well presented and professional.

    To do this job well, you need to have sound legal skills and the willingness to learn from experienced colleagues and client cases.

    Proactively, professionalism and customer orientation are your personal trademarks.
