ABOUT THE ROLE
The Logistics & Data Specialist is an instrumental position allowing us to manage our inbound shipments and master data quality for the Middle East.
The position is also responsible for driving indirect procurement, logistics initiatives and improvement projects. The position reports to Logistics Manager, MEA region.
The mission of the Logistics & Data Specialist is to drive the process and manage the shipments from our global distribution centers into the Middle East region.
The position is expected to manage various stakeholders including origin teams, destination warehouses, customer services, IT, commercial, suppliers and even the customer.
The position is critical to maintain the flow of product and information to have a seamless supply chain.
In this role you will be responsible for :
Ensure timely and proactive tracking of cross-divisional shipments (Air, Land and Sea) from the central distribution centers to the warehouse, including shipment documentation, HS Classification, Customs compliance, delivery and uploading stocks in the system, across the MEA region.
Managing logistics partners and their KPIs, including forwarders, customs and delivery partners, warehousing partners through daily tracking and periodic performance reviews with each party.
Deliver proactive cross-functional planning, project management processes and a well- developed process of daily result management by utilization of scorecards and root cause problem solving / corrective action processes.
Managing, coordinating and following up with internal and external stakeholders on all queries and questions in a timely manner.
Maintain the material master data creation, across all divisions. Ensuring coordination with the global teams, internal departments and global support teams.
Systems to be used are SAP, lotus, oracle and any other systems as and when required .
Negotiating and coordinating with local vendors that provide marketing and promotional materials.
Driving quality assurance and management initiatives as directed by the regional / global team, including handling exceptions and destruction of material.
Ensuring completion of financial month end activities, including conducting monthly review of operational freight costs and monitoring monthly KPIs for efficient budget management.
Ensuring invoices are checked and handed to finance for timely payment to vendors and ensuring due diligence while dealing with vendors.
Coding invoices in SAP and ensuring invoices are paid on time.
Maintaining all records related to shipping and financial documentation as per company guidelines while ensuring that audit needs are met.
Driving cost and efficiency initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset.. Driving initiatives, formulating creative solutions for resource optimization, while seeking to increase productivity and customer satisfaction.
Continuously learning and staying informed about all the new regulations and guidelines issued by logistics authorities in order to improve performance, drive initiatives and efficiencies.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Excellent stakeholder management with an ability to deal with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Attention to detail to ensure all information and records are accurate and up to date.
Logistics and Project management experience to be able to drive the end to end shipments process in a timely manner.
Expertise in MS Excel and flair for systems.
Knowledge of SAP System is a must, and Oracle is a strong preference.
Fluency in spoken and written English, with excellent communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Transportation / Supply Chain / Logistic or any equivalence.
Around 5 years of experience working in a Logistics and / or FMCG industry, ideally within the Middle East Region.
