Job Role : Senior Credit Analyst - SpecialAssets
TheSpecial Assets function is critical to prudently managing thebank's identified distressed accounts; and this roleprovides crucial support, via credit analysis, portfoliomanagement, regulatory compliance and MIS reporting duties, for theefficient and effective management of the Special Assetsportfolio.
Key ResultAreas : PortfolioManagement
Assist theline manager to monitor the Special Assets portfolio through theuse of control and tracking MI reports.
Ensurethat Special Assets Managers populate the latest data; individualaccount risks are correctly and timely assessed, and thatappropriate account strategies are formulated and executeddiligently.
Assist the line manager inrecognizing loan impairments promptly; quantify substantiate themin a rigorous manner.
Develop andmaintain MIS for SA Unit key indicators. Ensure accurate and timelydata and MIS are maintained for the SA portfolio
Develop a commanding knowledge and understanding of allSA policies and procedures; ensure they are rigorously followed bythe team.
Assist the line manager in inensuring that controls are effectively maintained in line with thebank's Operational Risk Framework, CB UAE circulars,etc.
Assist the line manager in Interactionswith auditors, regulators and other critical external stakeholders,contributing to a constructive working relationship withthem.
Coordinate with Business Units tofollow-up and collect various reports / information / data as perCPM.
Assist the team in collating and sharingexperiences and lessons learned with internal constituencies inorder to expand their risk knowledge base.
Assist with accurate financial analysis andcredit proposal preparation on large exposure restructuringcorporate cases.
Assist in assessing andstructuring proposals and transactions.
Contribute in the creation and renewal of CPs.
Maintain credit presentation standards.
Timely identification, recognition and mitigation ofcredit and operational risks.
For selectedlarge exposures, assist in ensuring that CPs are properly presentedand include all relevant information, and credit controls in linewith the bank'
s credit policy and local regulatorydirectives.
Monitor & ensure timelysubmission of HRCs and CPs across the team.
Review, check and assign where applicable the appropriaterisk rating to each large exposure credit processed and initiatethe change in the rating as the case may be to reflect the true andfair condition of the customer.
Knowledge, Skills andExperience
Thecandidate must be a qualified chartered accountant (CA)
The candidate must hold a relevant postgraduate degree,preferably an MBA.
Positive Attitude is amust.
Knowledge, understanding and experienceof having handled remedial / distressed cases in the past; andrelevant industry experience in Credit Risk Management.
Flawless writing and presentation skills, top notchanalytical skills.
Demonstrable ability tomanage stakeholders at all levels, within and outside theorganization, including regulators.
Sharpbusiness acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriatelevels of return).
Excellent interpersonalskills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Understanding of best practice risk management techniquesand frameworks.
