    Role & Key Responsibilities :

    The successful applicant for will be responsible for overseeing and growing a team of Senior Fund Accountants and Fund accountants involved in the areas of NAV Calculation, shareholder reporting and compliance.

    The individual will maintain the client relationship; take responsibility for co-ordination of regulatory reporting, audit preparation, marketing for new business along with the take on and due diligence requirements of the company.

    A self starter who can work independently taking initiative as well as part of a team.

    Ensure a high standard of delivery to clients; Train, appraise and the motivate team.

  • Manage production of client daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and related accounting activities;
  • Perform reviews of client daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and related accounting activities;
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are produced and reviewed to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner;
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are produced in line with the appropriate accounting standards, fund documentation, local regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Fund Setup on Paxus, in line with the offering document.
  • Review of offering documents
  • Payment processing and review
  • Preparation and review of Transfer Agency packs
  • Build excellent working relationships with clients;
  • Ensure all work undertaken complies with the client’s documentation, relevant regulatory requirements and anti-money laundering regulations;
  • Review and recommend changes to client deliverable processes;
  • Oversee clients’ audit process.
  • Delegate and control work loads in the team;
  • Be proactive in the training and development of team;
  • Motivate and empower team members by building their capabilities;
  • Build effective relationships;
  • Encourage a healthy working environment for the team;
  • Conduct regular 1 to 1 meetings and appraisals with the team;
  • Review, recommend and implement agreed changes to accounting procedures;
  • Ensure the team are kept up to date with changes to accounting standards;
  • Follow Company procedure at all times;
  • Oversight of team time / revenue recording;
  • Collaborate with other managers in the office to ensure the timely completion of deliverables;
  • Deputise for the Senior Manager in his / her absence;
  • Provide cover to other teams if required;
  • Contribute and participate in New Business sales pitches on accounting matters;
  • Manage the accounting WIP write off process in conjunction with other managers;
  • Manage the set up process of the accounting functions for new funds;
  • Support trainee accountants to succeed with their studies;
  • Act in accordance with the Apex Code of Conduct;
  • Deliver the Apex Client Charter.
  • Has 5 years or more experience in a similar role incorporating the above functions,
  • Is a qualified accountant or has an accountancy qualification,
  • Has good working knowledge of securities and derivatives and their valuations
  • thereof,
  • Quick to grasp and implement knowledge,
  • Paxus Experience preferable, but not mandatory,
  • Has strong PC skills including Word, Excel (including Macros),
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and written communications skills,
  • Be a proactive team player with a positive attitude towards problem resolution,
  • Has ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A high level of visibility within a large organisation on an upwards trajectory
  • The ability to define marketing processes to drive innovation and have a tangible impact on the business
