The NWC is seeking a highly motivatedcandidate to join our interdisciplinary research group as apost-doctoral research associate.
The candidate is expected to workclosely but also independently from the senior research staff. Inaddition, the candidate is expected to have a multidisciplinaryattitude and pursue excellent scientific results at aninternational level.
The principalduties and responsibilities assigned to this position will include,but not limited to, conducting computational research onspatiotemporal analysis to identify, measure, and monitor theeffect of climate variability and extreme weather events onagriculture, surface water, and groundwater, with an emphasis onthe use of different climatological and remote sensing datatechniques.
The candidate should assist thesenior researcher in the ongoing projects and researches and writeresearch proposals, scientific reports, conference presentations,and peer-reviewed journal articles.
A PhD in Soil and WaterEngineering, or closely related discipline, with background inclimate change, is expected. At least 2-year postdoctoralexperience is required.

Hydrologic and climatic extremes, climate modeling, andprecipitation variability
Droughts and forecasting ofclimate events using GCMs and RCMs
Ecosysteminteraction to regional climate change
Fluctuation inprecipitation and temperature time series
Applicationof gridded data products and biases correction methodmodification
Drought indices reformulation and theirapplication
Familiarity with programming languageR / Matlab is desirable
Experience withinterdisciplinary research
Ability to identify anddevelop innovative research areas and proposals
Documented ability to attract external funding for research
Ability to author peer-reviewed journal publications andtechnical reports
Demonstrate excellent oral andwritten communication and interpersonal relationships skillsrelevant to scientific and management audiences
Astrong publication track record in high-ranking journals thatcompares favorably with others at a similar career stage (at least15 peer reviewed SCI publication, including 3-4 JCRQ1)
