Summary

The Warehouse Manager / ASM is responsible for leading a food service warehouse team in performing warehouse, inventory, supply, and daily workflow duties in support of DFAC operations.

Principal Accountabilities

Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Lead, provide oversight and instruct warehouse team on proper receiving, storage, and issuing of warehouse items
  • Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of DFAC storeroom operations, to include oversight of all property for DFAC operations
  • Ensure the process of First In, First Out, First to Expire (FIFOFE) is maintained at all times in accordance with contract requirements
  • Monitor and analyze operational data and reports to verify compliance with established policies, procedures, and work standards
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations and directives regarding financial inventory and accounting
  • Oversee preparation of material control and accounting input for data processing and review output documents for accuracy
  • Inspect and evaluate inventory management activities including storage and rotation of stock upon food deliveries
  • Prepare reports on materials, supplies, and equipment availability, storage space, and relocation
  • Properly resolve or refer personnel and operational issues as they arise
  • Responsible for escorting OCN personnel between all locations in accordance with base and program requirements
  • Assist with government and internal property or warehouse audits, as needed
  • Responsible for supporting procurement / supply chain operations for all assigned task orders, as required
  • Responsible for acting as the Assistant Site Manager (ASM) only when the Site Manager is on leave and when Site Manager delegates such authority
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge & Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of asset management, ground transportation, and distribution administration
  • Skill in analyzing and evaluating Subsistence Total Order and Receipt Electronic System (STORES) food service software and Defense Transportation System reports, quality control, and traffic management functions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve issues as they occur
  • Ability to work with personnel from different cultural backgrounds and manage OCN personnel supporting warehouse functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint applications
  • Experience in DynMRO and procurement / supply chain operations supporting multiple task orders
  • Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or experience in lieu of education
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a warehouse environment with at least five (5) years of supervisory or OCONUS / combat zone work
  • Experience as liaison representative between military services, commercial companies, and host nation elements
  • Experience in effectively handling cargo documentation, food deliveries and logistical movement control
  • Operate a forklift as required, as well as train and certify others on forklift
  • ServSafe Certified (40-hour management course) or equivalent preferred
  • Physical Requirements / Working Environment

  • Medically clear for food service operations
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
  • Manufacturing / Production / Operations
