The role of the Event Operations department is to manage activities across the event delivery of Expo 2020. Event Operations includes the following service areas : (1) Accreditation, (2) Cleaning & Waste Management, (3) Guest Services, (4) Logistics, (5) Site Management, (6) Transport Traffic & Parking and (7) Venue Operations.
The purpose of the School Groups Manager is to lead on the planning, development, and operation of the school group program.
Focus is on the physical tour given to the school groups. Manages the frontline team that deliver the guided tours to the expected 2.
3 million school group guests and ensures the seamless delivery and consistent high quality of these tours. Will work closely with the School Program team to align the Event Operations delivery of the vision created by this team.
The main responsibilities of this role will include :
Oversee the successful delivery of 800+ school tours daily;
Execute operating plan in conjunction with other departments including Transportation, School Groups, Logistics and others;
Develop motivation plan to inspire tour guides and keep their commitment and enthusiasm over the course of the operating period;
Develop reporting structure to keep stakeholders informed of general operations and any anomalies that need to be documented;
Assist in the interviewing and vetting of potential tour guides;
Provide feedback on school tour guide performance and retrain and motivate guide staff over the entirety of the Expo’s duration.
6+ years’ experience in a Management role working on a previous major event program or attractions operations, with specific experience related to developing guided tours and front line guest service staff management as well as :
A Bachelor's Degree;
Program / project manager experience leading guest facing interactions and guided tours;
Experience in working in a multi-cultural organization, GCC region desirable, UAE Preferred;
Experience in working on training plan for big multicultural teams and events (short time to train people with no second chance);
Experience on planning schedules, shifts and roster for a large team with multiple individual situation related;
Experience in leading volunteers;
Comfortable leading a guided tour geared toward children aged 4-18 years;.
