The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is inviting applications for a multi-year fully funded Research Associate position in the area of advanced materials for sustainable and resilient urban infrastructure with an immediate start date.

A qualified applicant must possess the following :

A PhD degree in one of the following areas : civil and environmental engineering, materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, inorganic chemistry or a relevant discipline,

Experience in civil engineering materials such as cement, concrete, chemical synthesis and analysis, mechanical testing and microstructural characterization (XRD, SEM-EDX, isothermal calorimeter, confocal Raman microscopy equipped with a heating stage, microCT, FTIR, AFM, nano-indenter, and / or rheometer.),

Additional experience in life cycle analysis and / or modeling of reaction mechanisms (atomic scale or microscale or thermodynamics modeling) would be preferable.
