Position Overview

The Sales Specialist will be responsible for new Portfolio and Risk Management and Performance Analytics Software Business Development for MSCI’s of Analytics suite as well as maintaining existing client relationships.

The role requires the ability to travel regularly through the Middle East region in support of new business growth as well as the management of the existing analytics relationships.

The sales person will be involved with the following aspects of account management including senior level relationship management, ability to demonstrate software, contract negotiation, increasing revenue through new sales and strategic account planning.

This person will work very closely with client service, marketing, product management, and finance / billing departments globally.

The role requires a high degree of energy and self-sufficiency to understand the MSCI analytics suite of tools with an ability to form a tight network of internal contacts to facilitate an initial understanding fo the MSCI services and on-

Scope of Responsibility

  • Total Relationship Management involving :
  • High Level Management contact
  • Strategic Planning with an Account and territory
  • New product placement
  • Answer detailed client inquiries about MSCI products and methodologies
  • Achieve targeted goals
  • Adopt and create a rigorous client prospecting program and establish an effective cold calling process
  • Target and penetrate new client segments, adding a quantifiable number of new client accounts in the year
  • Inform all clients about MSCI’s products, announcements, projects, etc.
  • Work with other departments (client service, legal, contracts, billing, etc) to ensure that all clients requests / inquiries are managed appropriately
  • Maintain accurate records regarding account visits, client conversations, finalized contracts, etc.
  • Proactively solicit client feedback regarding new initiatives and future product development
  • Provide feedback from clients to Marketing, Sales, Research and Product Development groups
  • Desired Experience

  • Demonstrable working experience within the investment industry
  • Sales experience with a proven track record of accomplishment
  • Understanding of / experience dealing with major international institutions including Asset Managers, Private Banks, Broker / Dealers, Pension Plans (Sovereign Wealth Funds), and Consultants
  • Experience in Global Equity & Fixed Income Markets
  • Knowledge of banking regulation desirable
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, experience in Risk Management a prerequisite
  • Superior communication and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
  • A self starter and highly motivated; ability to work individually and within a team
  • Fluency in English, preference for Arabic speaker
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA, Masters Degree and / or CFA charter holder a plus
