Your tasks

Position Description Summary :

  • To handle, review, monitor and audit country operations on general policy matters for the Company, including but not limited to Claims, Insurance and Sanction List (SL) Screening and to ensure that the standards and / or policies are consistently complied with.
  • Main Tasks and Accountabilities :

  • To review, revise and develop appropriate Claims, Insurance and SL Screening procedures and policies to ensure alignment with global policies so that plans and implementation programs can be carried out to improve operational efficiency.
  • To directly handle Claims and Insurance coordination for the countries under the semi-COE set-up (Angola, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Namibia).
  • To help in regular process reviews / audits and even investigations then come up with sound recommendations to address issues on hand and to ensure non-recurrence while referring issues to the appropriate function or department manager.
  • To initiate activities to create awareness and a culture of compliance to policies and procedures within the organization such as direct training / program deployment / consultative sessions to relevant employees, contractors or other third parties.
  • To liaise directly and / or provide necessary assistance to external contacts such as customers, suppliers / partners, insurers / brokers, and government institutions on matters relating to Claims and Insurance.
  • To collaborate with all operational and support groups to provide consultative sessions on matters relating to Claims, Insurance and SL Screening even extending to customers and suppliers as may be necessary.
  • To perform other task / s as required.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in freight forwarding / logistics industry
  • Broad understanding of the total company operations; Claims and Insurance standards; Knowledge of Risk Management Risk Assessment / Reporting;
  • Good command of English language
  • Good command of Arabic language a plus
  • Good computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Customer oriented
  • Possess core competences including initiative, commitment for quality, planning, organizing, team building and cooperation, information and communication behaviour
