Middle East Regulatory Program Expert (UAE Region)

UL is seeking an energetic self-starter with strong communication skills to take a lead role in developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of the regulatory, technical and certification process requirements for Middle East (ME) market access in support of Appliances, HVAC and Lighting (AHL) division’s Global Market Access (GMA) business growth.
Responsibilities
Act as regional key expert contact for compliance requirements required to access the ME market and countries
Develop key contacts and relationships with the appropriate regulatory and standardization authorities in ME region countries
Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of key regulations and standards at the ME regional level as well as for individual member countries
Work with AHL GMA leads and ME team to develop and implement ME access services
Provide point-of-access support to address any local acceptance issues
Track regulatory trends and communicate upcoming regulatory changes
Lead impact analysis of regulatory changes for applicable products and services
Keep UL-Go (GMA database) and intranet toolkit information up-to-date including news and impact by product type
Support training and service / program implementation activities
Support customers and global colleagues for ME program inquiries
Qualifications
Experience / knowledge in conformity assessment programs (ISO / IEC 17065), Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Inspection / Audits (ISO / IEC 17020)
Experience in SASO and ESMA
University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an ABET accredited program plus eight years directly related work experience.
Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline. Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in areas of expertise.
Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in areas of expertise, including application to complex, new, or unusual products.
Working knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
Native Arabic speaker
Fluent English speaker
Availability to travel freely in all ME countries and Europe
Preferrable :
Technical experience with AHL products (Appliances and HVAC at least)
Good connections with regulatory authorities and customs in Gulf Countries
