Key Activities

Key Performance Indicators

Ensure quality of incoming material

Assist QA / QC Manager in developing and maintaining documentation on material inspection requirements

Coordinate with Stores In-charge and inspect incoming permanent project material

Periodically inspect stores to ensure that storage (contractual) conditions are adhered to Periodically inspect stores to ensure that storage conditions are adhered to

Visit suppliers’ facilities for inspection upon instructions from the QA / QC Manager

Rigour in maintaining quality-related documentation (such as inspection reports, material test certificates, etc.)

Support in selection, training and certification of quality-critical manpower

Provide Training School / Lectures / Hands on training to quality-critical manpower

Liaise with client inspectors to arrange for certification of manpower / physical inspection and tests on project site

Preserve and update manpower approval certificates

Man-hours lost due to failure in renewal of manpower and qualification certificates beyond a minimum time allotted

Maintain quality-critical equipment

Monitor calibration of quality-critical equipment by 3rd party agency

Liaise with 3rd party (external) calibration agency

Maintain proper documentation (calibration register and equipment calibration certificates)

Ensure that all measuring and testing equipment have stickers bearing the relevant calibration details

Timeliness in calibration of quality-critical equipment

Manage product and process quality and undertake preventive and corrective action

Assist QA / QC Manager in developing documentation for activities (Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, etc.)

Review of spool drawings / welding procedure / non-destructive testing, preheat and post-weld heat treatment requirements (for Plant Operations) only and correctness of identification etc

Co-coordinating Inspections as per the Inspection and test Plan

Implement corrective and preventive action as prescribed by the QA / QC Manager

Highlight any product non-conformity / rework to the QA / QC Manager and develop a quality defect sheet

Conduct trend analysis of quality trends. Highlight dangerous quality trends to the QA / QC Manager

Robustness of documentation of the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)

Effectiveness of the Quality Defect Analysis and corrective action thereof

Audit

Assist QA / QC Manager during audits and generating non-conformance reports

Maintain audit related documentation

Self-Development

Keep abreast of the latest quality specific instrumentation and measurement equipment, technological developments in the line of business, advanced methods in welding and weld repair
