Job Role : MANAGER OF CORROSION &INSPECTION
Participates in defining the Corrosion and InspectionPolicies. Leads the implementation of the Corrosion and InspectionPolicies and procedures.
Performs as TechnicalAuthority to prevent failures by loss of containment in pressureequipment and piping and other assets as established in CompanyAsset Integrity and Reliability Management System.
Performs as Technical Authority for Welding, Corrosionand Materials Engineering.
Plans, directs andsupervises the activities of all assigned personnel in theInspection and Corrosion Department. Performs supervisory functionsat the level established by Management.
Controls and coordinates the activities of a multidiscipline team of engineers in the field of mechanical inspection,QA / QC, corrosion monitoring, cathodic protection and metallurgy toprovide efficient technical support and services to maintainmechanical integrity of LNG assets process equipment andstructures.
Plans and coordinates Risk BasedInspection assessments and reassessment, ensuring ever greening ofinformation, updating of all inspection Data Base and puttingforward adequate Inspection Plans.
InformsManagement on status of Inspection Compliance through monthlyreports with Key Performance Indicators representative of all areassuch as percentage of inspection completion, overdue inspections,piping leaks, R&Rs issued, overdue PSV inspections,corrosion rates, CP potential protection levels, budget compliance,etc.
Alerts Management of integrity threats byissuing monthly Integrity Advice Note and work with otherDepartments to resolve the concerns.
Plans andcoordinates Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) in order to introducecorrective actions to prevent failure re-occurrence in staticequipment.
Coordinates Fitness for Service(FFS) assessment and remnant life assessment of equipment andpiping and proposes replacement plans as required.
Actions must beplanned in agreement with other involved departments and inaccordance with 5-Year Plan and budget cycles and procedures toensure proper implementation.
Ensures that allservices and activities are carried out in accordance with theCompany applied QA / QC procedures, conforming with Company COPs andInternational Standards and best practices examples of such arerefurbishment of cold duty insulation during normal plantoperations on line and the painting refurbishment of the Companyassets in order to support fabric maintenance actions.
Sets priorities for all workload within the Inspectionand Corrosion Department plans, directs and supervises theirimmediate implementation to ensure the integrity of all equipmentand the safe running of all ADGAS facilities and their associatedutility facilities.
Ensures that Plant Management are informed andupdated on the plant condition, reports on the equipment andpressure safety relief valves that are overdue forinspection.
Controls and supervises theexpenditure of Normal Revenue Budget of the department.Co-ordinates the preparation of 5-Year Plan and annualCapital / Major Revenue Expenditure Budget with Cost ServicesDepartment for Management approval.
Plans andexecute major inspection projects when required through outsourcingservices from qualified contractors; implementing adequate projectmanagement strategies to ensure proper forecasting, planning,budget and resource allocation as well as timely execution ofphysical works and budget.
Administers, andimplements the integrated Quality Control policy during trainsoverhaul, and ensure Shutdown Contractor'
s compliance with.Attends shutdown Managerial meetings at Department Heads level andadvised on QA / QC related aspects, to ensure the timely successfulcompletion of train overhaul.
Coordinates theoutsourcing of inspection services for Turnarounds and monitors theactivities of the contracted team of inspectors during overhauls;
advises on critical areas through collecting specific data tointerpret / predict the remaining life of equipment and on necessarymeasures to prevent any failures or disruption ofproduction.
Supervises and reviews thepreparation of technical reports covering asset integritycondition, life expectancy and all aspects of the reliabilitywithin the plant following annual Major overhaul.
Attends the Monthly Management Planning Meetings, WeeklyProduction Meeting and Central HSE Committee Meetings to exchangeinformation on status of integrity plans and coordinate with otherDepartment leaders the implementation and completion of plannedactions.
Likewise, coordinates participation of senior personnel toperiodic meetings to facilitate execution and compliance ofinspection plans and implementation of recommendations issuedthrough R&R system.
Provide technicalsupport in Statement and Definition of requirements (SOR and DOR)meetings for all modifications and local projects, advising onwelding procedures, Non-destructive Testing (NDT), and pressuretest requirements for all site and systems modification.
Scrutinizes specification while purchasing new materials andequipment as necessary.
Advises Management onnew policies for Corrosion and Inspection, and assesses therelevancy of the latest methods and techniques for conditionmonitoring, reliability, and life expectancy of plant equipment,with a view to optimize inspection / maintenance cost effectiveness,without affecting or impairing the integrity and the safe runningof the LNG Plant.
Reviews and provide commentsto technical documents for engineering projects, as well ascontractor's engineering construction packages regarding toscope of work, method of statement for work implementation,welding, painting, insulation, material selection, QA / QC plan andensures they comply with Company procedures, specifications andstandards.
Reviews the status of the LNG PlantCathodic protection systems, identifies deficiencies and developsthe necessary rectification measures.
This covers three LNG Trains,sea water intake, new tank farm and LNG / Sulphur facilities andloading jetties.
Coordinate the continuousmonitoring of internal corrosion control systems with chemicalinhibitors, in order to ensure continuity of treatment andmaintaining corrosion rates within allowable limits.
Ensures the establishment and continuous update ofInspection Data Base for all Assets and corresponding InspectionTask Plans.
Consequently, coordinates with Information TechnologyDivision the needed support for maintenance and sustainability ofcomputerized system in time.
Promotes aconsistent level of communication with all Departments to ensurehighest quality of work, in a culture of innovation, creativity andefficiency as well as ensuring that adequate resources areavailable to accomplish asset integrity and reliabilityobjectives.
Provides opportunities fortraining and development of employees under his direction, withemphasis on UAE Nationals, and assesses their progress, thisincludes on-the-job training, counseling and proper workdelegation.
Promotes and ensuresimplementation of HSE policies within the Department and assuresthe safety of personnel and equipment through compliance withoccupational health and safety regulations to achieve Company HSEMStargets.
Provides assistance and consultancyto Materials and Procurement, to ensure that the supplied materialsand equipment are conforming to the International Standards andCompany requirements including application of Positive MaterialIdentification when requested.
Maintainsnetworking for technical exchange within Company Group ofCompanies, national and international Corrosion &Inspection related Institutes and Associations in order to keepupdated with latest experiences and techniques in the field and topromote knowledge sharing of lessons learnt.
Carries out other related or similar duties as assignedsuch as attend progress meetings with VPP, VPO, VPPM & GTSMto co-ordinate support to maintenance activities.
BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent charteredengineer in appropriate discipline
20 years ofminimum experience with at least 15 years in a professionalcorrosion and inspection engineering role in addition to 5-yearsupervisory role in corrosion and inspection engineering experiencein the oil refining or petrochemical industry.
Demonstrates Leadership roles with identifiableachievements and contribution toward integrity in Oil & Gasfacilities.
Possess current knowledge of bestpractices in integrity assessment, including experience in RiskBased Inspection, Root Cause Analysis andFitness-for-Service.
Good spoken and writtenEnglish.
Either NACE Specialist or APIcertified
