Advise on specialist aviation safety matters, particularly the investigation of incidents and accidents involving EFTA, in accordance with the standards and practices set out in ICAO Annex 13, EFTA SMS and relevant safety procedures, and as defined by the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE.
To support and / or conduct safety investigations and produce investigation reports that identify root cause, systematic safety hazards and deficiencies to both air and ground operations, and contain recommendations to prevent future occurrences and enhance operational safety.
Job Outline : - Maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant student safety legislation, regulations and best practice in the areas of scope of the EFTA.
Develop any required updates to the EFTA Safety Management System (SMS) manual and related documentation for Post Holder consideration.
Provide updates on all new or amended Safety legislation and regulations associated with GCAA and other relevant regulatory authorities to all staff and students at EFTA through appropriate safety promotional activities -
Develop and ensure the safety performance practises across EFTA operations by executing a safety management systems (SMS), including a common safety data collection and processing system (SDCPS), Flight Data Monitoring (FDM), incident reporting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment process (HIRA) in accordance with the GCAA regulations and company manuals.
Ensure the regulatory Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR) requirements for the EFTA are fulfilled through suitable processes.
Ensure EFTA Personnel are aware of the EFTA Safety Policy and understand their accountabilities and responsibilities through an appropriate SMS training programme.
Oversee the Academy's Academic Plan and advice on procedures required to ensure the academy operates in compliance with GCAA.
Prepare the required management review reports for the EFTA Safety Actions Group(s), SAGs and the Safety Review Board (SRB).
Liaise with the GCAA (regulator) and the GCAA AAIS (Annex 13 investigations) for any EFTA events subject to external Annex 13 or other regulatory safety investigations.
Develop, integrate, exercise and amend the requirements in to the EFTA Emergency Response Plan (ERP). - Provide expert advice and opinion to other departmental staff, EFTA management and other entities as required, in matters that influence EFTA safety.
This includes flying operations, air traffic control (ATC), technical and engineering, etc. Participate in formal and informal interdepartmental and external industry meetings and acting as the focal point for safety issues on ground and air operations to ensure the initiation of internal occurrence and accident investigations.
Flight Safety : 8+ Years Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) Knowledge / skills : - Relevant to a safety investigation role or equivalent specialised professional qualifications such as Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, or Airline Transport Pilots Licence, Cabin Crew or Licensed Air Traffic Controller, along with an Aircraft Accident Investigator qualification.
