Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an Associate Director - Project Management to take responsibility of the overall performance of A large project for Dubai, UAE and assume accountability for the performance of various entities contracted by the project.

The successful candidate will ensure client’s vision is achieved by managing their expectations and serving as the senior AECOM representative for the project.

Duties and responsibilities :

Developing policies, procedures and priorities to meet established project and construction management goals and objectives.

Developing policies, procedures and standards for financial planning and provide guidance for preparation of annual budget requests and the allocation of available resources.

Following up with the project schedule and ensure the completion as targeted.

Verifying and approving completion certificates.

Preparation of project budgets and monthly budget status reports in conjunction with the cost control team.

Attending all senior management follow up progress meetings & coordination meetings.

Coordinating and managing the team through a focus on developing the Center programs and their corresponding execution plans and services.

Managing the development, implementation and maintenance of effective management information, performance monitoring and review mechanisms to ensure that the Project resources are most effectively developed.

Handling the responsibility for the delivery, profitability and quality of the program outcome by overseeing and managing policies and procedures related to program operations, establishing adequate standards for excellence and performance indicators to evaluate overall performance against program objective and developing reporting systems to monitor that the program is being executed in a timely and professional manner

Overseeing the communications of the project through the implementation of Program Management System that provides the following :

Scheduling : Coordination of Master Schedule, Master Schedule Updates, Design Schedule, Construction Schedule and Construction Schedule Updates.

Cost Planning & Estimating : Coordinate Program Cost Models, Plans, Budgets, Reports and Financial Cash Flow Analyses.

Monthly Reporting : Coordination of Progress Reports, Detailed Progress Reports and Construction Progress Reports.

Meetings : Coordinate Meetings with all stakeholders and Project Owners.

Issues Tracking and Resolution : Coordinate identification of issues, assign responsibility and track resolution

Human Resource and Administration : organize and build necessary Day One team to achieve all the objectives of the Day One Program.

Settling contractor claims.

Coordinating, scheduling and organizing operational activities to avoid unnecessary overlap and redundancy.

Maximizing efficiency and maximize integration of components through the application of best practices in program support and implementation for components and deliverables

Developing start-up and operational requirements that are specific to the project. Monitoring outcomes and success indicators.

Providing strategic planning services toward the implementation of Opening programs and strategic planning.

Implementing systems and procedures on the project until the completion of the project.

Providing program management training and other skills and knowledge transfer services to staff to enhance the in-house capability to conduct strategic program planning, integration and execution in all program disciplines.

Preparing periodic reports with respect to the program activities and achievement to be submitted to the Client

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates are required to have 15 years relevant experience in total, working on major development projects and 5 years within the Middle East.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management related subject, as well as a professional membership within the construction / engineering sector.
